Gold model GU1200. Is there a filter module and, if so, how do I get access to clean it?

The location is shown as #17 on page 5 of your owner's manual. You may need a magnifying glass to see where the "line" is pointing to, but it does show it in the bottom of the machine. See link below:

I have a GD22DQ model side by side whirlpool gold refrigerator. we have looked through the manual and we cannot find were to put the water filter. the manual shows a dial at the bottom of the fridge but...

Hello Dollar1392,

I understand that you can not locate the water filter for your unit. If you have a water filter in your unit it will be located in one of two locations at the bottom of the unit in the grille or in the top of the refrigerator section on the right side in the rear corner. If the filter is not located at one of these locations then there is no filter on your unit. You will need to put an in-line filter in your water supply line.

Thank you for choosing FixYa.com if you have any further questions please post back to the thread.

Putting in the new water filter to the Whirlpool gold fridge that goes in at the bottom.

Removing a water filter from the base grill of your Whirlpool brand refrigerator:

Removing and replacing a water filter - base grill location

Filters situated in the base grill (below the freezer compartment) of Whirlpool-built side-by-side refrigerators are relatively simple to replace. Follow these two steps:
  1. Grasp the filter's end and make a one-quarter turn to the left.
  2. Pull the filter straight out.
To replace with a new filter, repeat these two steps in the opposite order, making sure to first remove the red cap from the filter. Proceed by pushing the filter straight into the slot, and then giving it a one quarter turn to the right.
Note: Replacing this type of filter is quick - there is no need to unplug your refrigerator when replacing it. Also, this filter should be replaced every six months.

Where the water filter whirlpool gold model no GS6SHEXMQ00 located? the last home owner lost the manual.

The base grille water filter cartridge is located below the freezer
compartment door. Depending on your model, you may have a
filter that is installed behind the base grille or a filter that
is installed through the base grille

This should be the right manual
