You have a reflector scope. the bottom of the scope has a mirror, you look thur the eye piece near the top, the top end has a cover that should "pop" off. it is use to keep dust out of the tube when it is stored and not in use.

Meade DS 2000 Goto Reflector scope. I am looking for the base goto motor assembly housing witch houses the motor and gears. Can anybody please help?

You cannot actually get parts for this scope other than from Meade directly-- and possibly a USED motor on Ebay. Usually Meade wants you to send in the scope for repair and will not sell you any gears or motors.

CAN YOU PLEASE TELL ME WHAT IS ITS LENS SIZE,AND ALSO CAN I PURCHASE AN ERECTING EYEPIECE SO THAT I CAN USE THE TELESCOPE FOR TERRESTRIAL VEIWING

The eyepiece size (diameter) is the standard 1.25 in.
Erecting eyepiece adapters can be used with this scope.
maximum magnification is 250x therefore highest eyepiece would be 3.6mm
most useful magnification of any scope is 150x (900/150= 6mm eyepiece
Eyepieces provided with scope (Huygens type) have a narrow field of view and are relatively poor for astronomy but should be fine for terrestrial viewing

Is there any other way you can find out the serial and model name -number of an older meade telescope .Im looking for a replacement part(diagonal mirror ).Im seeing every thing upside down..I was told it I...

No they do not keep track of serial numbers only the main model number like LX200, LX90, ETX, etc etc--

Everything is ALWAYS upside down in an astronomical telescope. It's normal!

No up or down in outer space. Read my tips on my profile page.

They do make an "erecting diagonal" for terrestrial viewing. Just google "erecting diagonal".

Telescope is definitely assembled correct but fail to see any magnification of light thru tube with use of either lens. Very clear nite but little moonlight, does that matter? Seems we get no magnification...

Did you try this during the day time. Stars are always just points of light no matter what telescope you use.

Try for the moon and or Jupiter which is up in the sky right now after dark. It looks like a BRIGHT star.

Tasco 40-114675 - new telescope. I am lost. my first telescope and the directions are useless. I don't know the first thing about them. how are the lenses supposed to go? do I use the barlow all the...

DO NOT USE the barlow at all your scope is too small to get that much magnification.

Put the eyepiece with the largest number written on it into the focuser and point it at a distant object during the day time. Practice focusing. The moon should be your first target at night.

You have several Astronomy club's nearby. get one of the members to help you with the scope.

By the way the eyepiece and focuser is on the UP end of the tube!

I put the 1.5 erecting lens in, however, I am getting a tilted veiw not an upside down one without it How do I get the veiw totally upright?

Turn the diagonal, and the image rotates. Using the scope for star gazing it does not matter. Normally an astronomical telescope shows an upside down image--- no up or down in space. The erecting prism is only used for terrestrial viewing as the prisms inside are probably NOT multi-coated.
