Question about Kenwood GPS
Problem first started when I pressed the up volume button and it went up to max and the down volume button did not function. After a few minutes the buttons worked. This happened a couple of times. Then all the press buttons on the bottom of the unit do not work (on/off, volume, door open, and the others). I can operate the unit with the touch screen but when I switch from ipod to gps, I cannot get back to ipod as there is nothing on the gps screen that can send me back. Right now I use the remote to switch from gps to ipod. I use the touch screen for volume control. My backup camera does not display now when I back up. The GPS and everything else works fine....only the buttons on the bottom of the unit do not work. I think the power connection to this area is broken.

SOURCE: Touchscreen problem
I corrected my problem. It was a pain, but I pulled the thing apart and cleaned the screen around the edge of the frame. It had alot of dust and particles there. Put it back together and with one calibration it works fine.

Battery can be replaced by you with a soldering gun. Battery is a BR2325 which is hard to find, but a CR2325 works just fine and will last longer. The BR2325 with legs for soldering to pc board is available
from Digi-key an online supplier for $1.73 US. It is easy to do. Understand that all prior waypoints and tracks are lost when this battery is replaced.

SOURCE: Hello, There,
The first bit of advice, never leave the gps in the car the temperature can warp the motherboard and the case
The battery is low too low to allow for the unit to reach the satellites. eratic behaviour is also part of low power. recharge the battery
