SOURCE: Bread won't rise

We have owned a Panasonic bread maker for ten years and gets used twice a week to make bread using "spelt " flour.About three years ago the bread maker was producing flat loaves, and was very heavy. We contacted bread making company called "Simply No Knead"and asked for there advise,as we were following the same recipe and method for around six years. They suggested that we add a little more water, and this would fix the problem. We tried this and the bread still failed to rise,so we rang them again .This time they said that we need a new bearing in the bread maker and that would fix it.We did this at a cost of $40 and still no good. This happened over a period of several months. We suggested to them that there must be something wrong with the flour, which they denied. After checking the labels on the packaging we noticed that they were using flour from another country [ I think it was Hungary ],because they had run out of suppies from Australian wheat produces.
The flour was far to old,and bread won't rise if the flour is to old. As soon as they started using Australian produced flour again the bread improved dramatically.

Hope this is helpful to you

SOURCE: banana bread recipe for sunbeam 5895

I have made the following recipe in my West Bend machine with great results. I just got a Sunbeam 5895 at a garage sale - it works great - just wanted a different "shape" loaf! I'm going to use this recipe in my Sunbeam - don't see why it won't work!

Here's the recipe!
1/2 cup softened butter, cut into small pieces for good blending
1 cup mashed ripe banana (personal note: if my ripe bananas don't measure up to 1 cup, I add enough milk to make it 1 cup. Seems to be okay)
2 eggs, large, slightly beaten
1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
2 cups all purpose flour
3/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt

Grease inside of pan and knead bar generously with vegetable shortening (I just spray with Pan Spray). All all ingredients in order listed above to pan. Lock pan into bread machine. Program for quick bread. After a few minutes of mixing, I usually take a rubber spatula and scrape down the sides and stir in any flour that has not been completely mixed. I didn't do this once and ended up with a loaf that had flour coated corners!

Good Luck! Enjoy!

Hello, You can use just about any recipe book for bread machines in your machine. Just be sure you machine can handle the size loaf the recipe calls for. In other words don't try to make a 2.0 loaf of bread in a machine that is only rated for max capacity 1.5 pound loaves. If you need a couple of good recipe books emailed to you I can do that. Need recipy for sanyo bread maker model SBM-11

Hi bread machine recipes are all interchangeable. I could email 3 recipe books from various makers. Just be sure that your machine will make the loaf size that the recipe describes. In other words if your machine will make a 1.0 pound loaf and a 1.5 pound loaf you can't put ingredients in for a 2 pound loaf recipe. I would ask $5.99 for all 3 to be emailed to you. Do you know the capacity of your machine? 1, 1.5, or up to 2.0 pound loaves? Let me know if I can help you.

Recipes for b&d breadmaker model 2300

Knowing your breadmaker's loaf capacity will enable you to find recipes of any variety on the Internet for free.

It will also keep you from adding too much ingredients which could cause dough to over-rise and spill onto the heating element.

Remove your bread pan from your breadmaker. Using a one-cup 8-fluid-ounce liquid measure, fill your bread pan with water. As you do, count the number of cups it takes to fill your bread pan to the very rim.

Generally speaking...

If your bread pan holds 7 & 10 cups to the rim then you have a 1.0 lb or 500 g loaf pan

10 & 11 cups to fill = 1.5 lb (700 g) loaf pan

11 & 13 cups to fill = 2.0 lb (900 g) loaf pan

13 & 15 cups to fill = 2.5 lb (1250 g) loaf pan

15 & 17 cups to fill = 3.0 lb (1350 g) loaf pan

Generally speaking...

A bread recipe for use in a 1.0 lb (500 g) breadmaker should never exceed 2-1/4 total cups of flour.

1.5 lb (700 g) = 3-1/4 c

2.0 lb (900 g) = 4-1/4 c

2.5 lb (1250 g) = 5-1/4 c

3.0 lb (1300 g) = 6-1/4 c

Warning: When testing a new bread recipe it is always best that you not leave your breadmaker unattended. Stay close by to monitor its progress from time to time.

Did this answer help? I hope so. Please rate it as soon as you can. Thank you.

Loafs dot look right

Black and Decker bread machines need a little more water in the dough, about two tablespoons for a two lb loaf. If the loaf does not rise enough, cut back on the salt about 1/4 teaspoon at a time, no less than one teaspoon for 2 lbs or the bread will be all full of large bubbles.

Steve just asked:where can i find a manual for Mr. loaf model 310 bread maker?

We didn't find a MANUAL, but we found a Mr. Loaf Recipe book. It is at www.scribd.com. When you do a search there for Mister Loaf, the first entry you see is unrelated. The second and third are good 150 page recipe books with comments how to apply to a Mister Loaf. Thanks to eBay discussion Board for help in locating this.
