Keyboard keeps highlighting everything makes it imposible to type anything out checked out mouse and that is not the problem can unplug keyboard and problem stops

I would check your Shift keys and see if they are sticking. Try pulling up on them. If you determine that they are the problem, you might need to disassemble the keyboard and clean the keys. Good luck!

Is the keyboard setup correctly?
Go to Start Menu - Control Panel - Date, Time, Language, Regional Options - Add Other Languages - Languages Tab - Details - Check the Country and Keyboard settings.
You may need to Add a new setup, switch to that, Reboot, remove the original.
Don't you just love how simple computers are - Yeah right!

My desktop doesn't recognize my keyboard

Try a different keyboard on your computer.
If that works, try your keyboard on a different computer.
If it fails, then replace the keyboard.

Shift keys Are being cApitAl a and tab

try to use virtual keyboard in start/allprograms/accessories/accessibility/onscreen keyboard. If your virtual keyboard is showing the different layout than your keyboard, check your input language setting and fix it. If your virtual keyboard is OK, then your real keyboard is the problem. Try to unplug and plug again.

Keyboard on lap top not working

Hello there,

What I would assume in your case is that the jack is not sensing that the keyboard(external) has been unplugged. You can check if the device is working properly in Hardware manager. Assuming you are using XP right-click on My computer->click properties-> hardware manager and check under keyboards. If there's any exclamatory mark next to it then it seems there's some kind of problem with it. Right-click on the device and click on uninstall. Since most of these workstation keyboards are Microsoft PS/2, windows should automatically find and install drivers for it. If it stil doesn't work then its likely to be a hardware failure. Contact HP immediately. Let me know if you need more help.

Keyboard possibly unplugged

the keyboard and palm rest(touchpad) are connected with a cable under the keyboard, and a small connector for palm rest. Only way to get to em, is by unscrewing the keeper screws(small phillips should do it), and carefully raising the keyboard. Should be a slim line connector, or a clamp down type. Try that, BUT BE CAREFUL.
