Question about Toshiba Computers & Internet

1 Answer

Toshiba M115-S1061 Will stop half way though BIOS load.

OK, worked one day and no the next. Stops at loading the BIOS. Its half way through, then load bar for BIOS stops. Could a bad HD/CPU do this? If its MB, I have found plenty of used MB for 115m, but non match the PN in mine. Would any MB for a 115m work?

Thanks,

Pyro

Go into the BIOS and check if the BIOS detects the hard disk. If not then most likely the hard disk has failed and the hard disk needs to be replaced then Windows needs to be installed on the new hard drive plus the Toshiba M115 device drivers and your programs/software.

Won't Load OS from DVD

If your laptop will post, meaning you can get to the BIOS, then YES. Re-flash it with the original BIOS, or a newer but proper BIOS. Then all should be OK again.

Usually for lot of computers works if you take off time battery from motherboard and for laptop also main battery so totally power off for 20min, but it don't work for some laptops if they write pass on hdd or chip. If this don't work then you have to visit service.

I think the only way you can reset the bios is to momentarily short the cmos battery and apply main power to laptop.
Of course to do that ,you will need to dissemble the laptop.
