SOURCE: Logitech x-230 speaker system

Ironically enough, I went on here because I have the satellites but no subwoofer! LOL, what are the odds. Anyways, if you happen to receive this information, can you please email me at ben.petrofsky@live.com?

Like I said, I'm searching for the same exact information for a similar problem and this would REALLY help as I can't power the speakers without this.

SOURCE: No sound coming out of my sub woofer, power is ok

That blue wire needs to be connected to both the receiver and the amp. It is what tells the amp to turn on when you turn the receiver on.

here are 2 links to some photos be very careful if you are soldering any power connectors any join of solder creates a link to power so if you get it wrong it might short circuit remember you must have both ends to be soldered clean usually the solder will have the flux built in although you might buy some soldering flux before you start you must warm up the ends with a soldering iron and tin them this will enable the solder to flow on and join correctly

Short in subwoofer wire - Altec Lansing computer speakers & sub

yes, you can splice the cables and put on a new connector, goto radio shack with the old connector and im sure they will have one you can splice right onto it. ive done this many times with varios equipment "headphones speakers etc" it may take a couple of tries to get the wiring right but if its just one speaker there will most likely be just 2 wires, if you wire it up and it doesnt quite sound right, wire it the other way. speakers will work wired backwards but wont sound quit right so if it doesnt, rewire it and it should. good luck and i hope this helps!

How to connect

Check the wires.
One wire should end with a thin green pin.
Connect the green pin to the green socket on your computer.
If there is a black pin, you have a sub-woofer, and the black pin
connects to the black socket on one of the speakers.
Connect the wire with the 2-prong silver plug to AC power, e.g., to a power-bar.

Test the speakers.
