Question about MSI Wind U100-280US Netbook
Have had it for 12 months and webcam was fine and now its saying webcam cannot be found.i have activated it with fn f6 but still doesnt work.can you help me thank you
When activating the camera with fn+F6, have you tried looking in the "Device Manager" to see if Windows recognises it ? It could be a driver problem, but just as well a broken cable in the screen hinge.

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

SOURCE: Hey my webcam is not
It sounds as if the drivers were uninstalled or became corrupted in some way.
The problem is that the drivers for this webcam are not downloaded separately but are native to Windows 7.
Try this solution and post back if it worked or not. If it doesn't work, I will attempt to help you further.
1. Turn on the webcam via the FN+F6 keys.
2. Press Win+R to open the Run command.
3. Type "devmgmt.msc into the dialog box and press enter to open Device Manager.
4. Find the extra "USB Composite Device" and right click on it.
5. Select "Update Driver" and click "Search automatically for updated driver software".
Windows should find the appropriate driver and install it. If it doesn't, then post back here and I will help you further.
Good luck and thanks for using FixYa.

First you should press "Fn+F6" to turn on the camera, and then use the MSI software "Easy Face Manager" to display the camera locally or you can use one of the IM software like msn, skype ... to share camera with your friends.

SOURCE: Hi i have msi u230
try to make a bios update but it was not advisable since it causes more problems. another one is to toggle the "Legacy USB Support" in bios if it was enabled try to disable it and vice versa. then boot your OS and check if the cam is working.
