Our brand new leapster2 is frozen on the sign-in screen.

When we turn our leapter2 on it displays the warning screen, and then the child's sign-in screen. However, we have not been able to get past the sign-in screen. It will not recognize our childs name with the attached pen. Could you please help us with this.

I have tried inserting an SD card and downloaded the 2 free games from the leapster site and then the trouble started. I have removed the SD card but still nothing. I have also tried, as suggested else where to hold down the ? & B button whilst turning on the leapster but it didn't do the trick..... pleassssssse help.

Our daughter's leapster 2 is brand new, but will not go past the sign in screen. We've tried everything from new batteries to the help button, but still nothing. She's very upset it was what she wanted for her birthday over any other present.

I have the same problem but when I try to calibrate it it does not respond to the two cross hairs on the left side of the screen. It does respond to the two on the right side and the one in the middle. Any suggestions?

I bought a leapster 2 for my son, it froze on the name sign in and would not allow us to choose his name. I brought it back to Toys R us and got another brand new one. The same thing happened with the screen freezing again....im really getting frusterated.

You should try this. I did and it worked perfectly

1) Ensure that a cartridge is not inserted 2) Hold down the Hint button while turning the unit on 3) When the LEAPSTER menu screen appears, press the A button 4) Touch each of the crosshairs that appear with the stylus 5) Restart unit

Try turning on the machine, whilst pressing and holding down the ? button and the b button at the same time, then you need to opt for screen options then touch the five x's.

I am trying to connect leapfrog leapstar to computer and follow application but when I connect usb with computer the leapstar says Please click "Eject button" Where is the eject button? I've...

The Eject button appears when a Leapster2 handheld is connected and turned on. When you have finished configuring the Leapster2 handheld and your child wants to play with it, you can click the Eject button to disconnect the device. Once ejected, a message will appear letting you know that it is safe to disconnect the Leapster2 handheld from the computer. It is not really a "button" but a picture of a green button which says "EJECT". It should be located on the upper right corner of your screen.

The screen is not responding

You can try calibrating the stylus pen. Hope this works :) Here are step by step instructions straight from the Leapster2 website:

If your Leapster2 does not respond to the stylus pen, it needs to be calibrated. Calibrating the Leapster2 is easy:

1) Ensure that a game cartridge is not inserted in the Leapster2

2) Hold down the Hint (?) button while turning the unit on. Continue to hold the Hint button down until the LEAPSTER2 menu appears. Remember that you need to hold the "Hint" button down the whole time while you are pressing the power button, and releasing it.

3) The LEAPSTER2 menu will show the options Base Info, Cart1 Info, Cart2 Info, Cart3 Info, and Touch Calib. If you do not see this menu after powering on the Leapster2, turn the Leapster2 off and repeat steps 1 & 2 until you see the menu.

Game console is frozen after you turn on power and it goes to the sign in page

My son had the same problem. Remove the game cartridge, while holding down the button with the "?" turn the unit on. Then the screen should tell you to press the "A" to calibrate the stylus. Finish the calibration by touching the crosshair when it appears. After I did this everything was fine. Good luck

Leapster2 comes on but won't allow me to sign on. The pen does not respond to the pen

Turn leapster2 off. Press and hold question mark button, then turn on leapster2. Keep holding the question mark button until you get a screen that says "touch calibration" on the right. Once you get this screen, let go of question mark button. Press the "A" button to select touch calibration. A small "+" will appear in one corner -- touch it with the pen. Repeat this for all four corners and then the middle. You have re-calibrated the pen. You can then turn the leapster2 off and then on again to play.

If you have tried this and the pen still doesn't work, change the batteries and repeat steps above.
