Question about Kenmore 61652 Microwave Oven

Microwave suddenly stopped working

Whenever I press "Popcorn", my microwave starts, but stops after about two seconds, and F3H appears in the window. I tried to pop the popcorn manually, and it still didn't work, as if the microwave is running, but not heating anything. It isn't even five years old, and I don't use it that often.

Re: Microwave suddenly stopped working

Code F3 indicates an open / defective thermistor / temperature sensor. The first suspects when a microwave is not heating would be the door switches, bad connections on the magnetron terminal or bad connections on the control board. If you or a friend decide to work on it, we have *critical* safety, disassembly, and troubleshooting info (as well as a text file which helps in diagnosing and repairing door switch problems) at our site, which is linked at our listing here on FixYa:

My microwave stopped working one day. A few times before it completely stopped working, the magnetron would pulse and then shut off. Now the only time it does that is when nothing is in the microwave. If...

If this is an older oven, or an oven that has heated a lot of popcorn, or other low water content foods, then you might be looking at a magnetron that has become intermittent. The symptoms you describe, however, do not match the symptoms you usually see with this type of failure.

Based on your description of the problem, I'd investigate the possibility of an intermittent power relay. The contacts on these eventually burn and sometimes don't make a good connection. After the contacts first close, there're is an initial surge of current that might make the relay functional for a second or two, and then the damaged contacts no longer make contact.

My 4yr old NN-S262SF OTR runs for 2secs and stops whenever start

Microwaves use alot of power and should be on their own 20amp circuit. Get an electrician to put the microwave on its own circuit.

Kenmore microwave (2 y/o) will stop soon after you hit start.

A quick test. Switch off power then remove outer cover. Look for the transformer. remove the two wires connected to the primary side. Note, do not toutch anything else. power still sitting on the cap. With those two thin wires disconnected, make sure they are not toutching each other or leaning on the metal frame. Set a program that has been a problem and let it run. If it still stops and does what its not supposed to do, your board needs replacement.

Whirlpool Gold Accuwave wont heat

Hi, there are three issues that will cause a no heat situation in a microwave. these issue are a failed Magnetron, busted cut-off fuse and, failed diode.

I recommend checking all these area that are located inside the microwave for faults.

The most common issue will be a failed Magnetron.

The diode and, fuse will be located on the noise filter assembly.
