SOURCE: i have cooper combination switch and gfci out let

Hi ,., the two screws on the one side of the combo are for the white , neutral wires, they should be interconnected with a small link. The screw at the bottom of the switch connect the black power wire, then jumper a wire between the other two screws on that side and the switch will be controlling the receptacle.

The other two are travelers and if the circuit was previously hooked up correctly you can connect the white and red to either screw.

Do you have to break off tab when installing combination device

The switch/receptacle pictured can be wired a number of ways. If you want to switch the attached receptacle you will leave the tab on between the brass colored screws and attach your HOT wire to the brass screw on the opposite side. The bare or green ground wire will attach to the ground screw. The white Neutral wire will attach to the silver colored screw.

Black wire to brass connection on switch. White wire to silver connector on receptacle. Add a wire from the silver side of switch to the brass side of the receptacle. When switch is on current flows through to it to receptacle then out white when something is connected to the receptacle.

I have a light switch like this, I have 2 black wires and 2 white wires only. THe house was built in the 60's, I found I black wire that is constantly hot, how do I wire up the plug, light switch so...

Bit more information is needed.
Wire color is not as important as knowing what wire is for.
Knowing Hot black hot wire is good step.
Next, see if box has neutral wires. Neutrals are usually white wires that are twisted together and covered with wire nut. Test black hot to each white wire to find neutral.
If box does not have neutrals, then this device cannot be wired to code.
Other black wire probably goes to light.
