If you can see the gas valve there is a thin hard wire called a thermocouple that comes from the gas valve and ends uo in front of the pilot light and this is where you would relight the pilot if the pilot wont stay lit then you need to replace the thermocouple you can get one from any hard ware store

SOURCE: Have a Gaffers and Sattler furnace mod # 85 FDF

When it call for heat you need a voltmeter to see if you have voltage at your gas valve. Check that first. You could jumper your stat between w and r to see if you have a bad stat. Rus

No. The transformer "transforms" 240 volts to 24. Meaning the high voltage coming into the machine. Normally has a "c",208,240 written on one side. Follow your main power wire into the machine. Branches to heater and transformer. Look at wiring diagram

I have a gaffers and sattler u100. The heater and fan work but the fan never turns off. PG&E says it's a wiring issue at the furnace, not the thermostat. Any ideas? Thanks!

There is a "Klixon" switch mounted to the heat chamber that is stuck closed. It will be wired in series directly into the motor wires

Intertherm furnace M1BG wont fire

Make sure the gas valve is turned to the ON position after you had it in PILOT position. Also check the thermostat low voltage wiring @ furnace...jumper the Red & White wires to bypass the thermostat temporarily. Make sure there is 24 volts on you low voltage circuit.

Can't find the oven pilot on an old Gaffers and Sattler "Energy Saver Range with Uni Burners"

With the help from your site I was able to hold a match under the bar under the oven shelf toward the back and light the pilot. I am SO grateful. I hadn't been able to see it but just held a match toward the back, and it lit.

Gaffers and Sattler vintage stove oven pilot 1956 W54 series similar problem

My mother had the same problem with her Gaffers-Sattler range. No one could figure out what was wrong with it. Her local new appliance repair people said to contact J.E.S. Enterprises, Inc at www.theoldapplianceclub.net. Whew; thank God for that tip. They knew exactly what the problem was and repaired the unit for her. The stove is running again like a workhorse! Here is their number - 805-643-3532.
