Question about Cisco IOS

1 Answer

Stumbled http://www.fixya.com/users/riztech He has CCNA but is telephone support for HP? There is something not right. He does know all the rest procedures for HP printers but never wrote a tip. I'm going to grab those reset procedures and file them for future use. But, what is you take on this profile. Do you think or can you think of a CCNA question he should know? that may expose him if he's bogus. WV

Okay, that sounds like a plan. I have asked him for expert to expert help on a HP printer I have here that's almost done and I have had to pull the battery and do a full NVM reset to actually get the status of the printer heads. This I have finally done, but would he help... no. Something aint right here and it reminded me of the Dell Certified System Engineer logo that was in use, no DCSE is going to work on FixYa, neither is a CCSE or CCNE. Those guys are in high demand not working in a call center in India.

I know, but we can provide leads. They don't have the time for that, so long as we keep if off the lounge and don't spark another witch hunt.

I don't know about you, it just someone popping in on a Premium that caps my interest for some reason and it usually leads to stuff that plays out like this.

Do you get those intuitive sparks?

I finally go this lady's printer fully reset even though our HP expert never got back to me for some reason. Its reading the dates on the print head chips, which means its no long having a brain f-rt.

The print heads are nearly three years old, HP had those chips set to disable the print head at 24 months with an error message. They sat unused for so long they're junk now.

Do you have a record of that, a answering message or cell phone message? Because that is a violation of ethics and probably the court.

On the Live Chats (LC) I read them and I may click on the user nick to open a page and then check later where the transcript is available. It plays out really well sometimes.

On the hunches. I guess you don't get them on information, just IP technology; or you wouldn't be doing it.

  • Glenn Rogers
    Glenn Rogers Jan 19, 2009

I was asking you on your history of acting on hunches. Do you use your intuition on instinct? I know you have and act on it when troubleshooting, but you know the Deja Vu stuff and turning around when someone is looking at you, do you act on those little trigers in other areas too?

Our Helo outfit was similar. We were 52 men, twelve officers about the same for Chiefs and E-6s. It was so close that we often were in Officer's country watching Blue Movies on one of the Zero's 8mm Projectors. When we watched the last one, we all drifted away. We could all tell when one of us was having a bad day. The E-2s and E-3s not so much, they were still terrified. But, mostly we were all way over trained, over skilled and capable of doing anyone else's job.

That part was fun, the working without Nixon sending us parts in '73, that wasn't. We had to start going onto wrecks (crash and burns) while the Marine's watched our back. That was spooky.

I think I started to trust my intuition on reading Cahill Gibran after the War and I ended up on a sojourn to find God. I couldn't stand to eat red meat, or meat in general sometime after we returned. I was or had been studying memory techniques while taking correspondence courses while over seas. That was an actual Corresspondence Course. The memory techniques involed trusting your first hunch, etc. I tried to not learn how to read someone's mind but started in on body language and facial experessions, expsecially micro-momentary muscle reflexes of the face when someone is lying or telling the truth.

I took an elective class on ESP, while attending college at Southwetern in San Diego County. That was mostly junk. The chicks were hot and easy.

I ended up driving a taxi for a living after a year off upon discharge. Driving the taxi gave me good training on reading people as there are a lot of bad people who take cabs and I was robbed and locked in a trunk once and anohter time faced a sawed off shotgun. I was trying to use telepathy to let this guy know I was a discreete cabby. Cab drivers were well known to keep their mouths shut. Once he got out of my car, I called the incident in using a code word we had and talked the dispatcher in to where this guy was going until the cops showed up. They picked him out in a bar based on my description and the shotgun was in his back pants. Trouble was he and his brothers had all lost their licenses and took cabs. Fortunately, he didn't remember my face and his address and he and his brothers were on the NO list for our cab company. Anyway close encounters like that, they reinforce your intuition. I'm sure you have your experiences.

    I can relate to that.

For fun reading look at this:

When you land on this page, click on few all

The subject line header is what got me. When reading into the posts and solutions this is clearly a not so clever disguise. I mean really, Palestinian Territory?

He has been called out a lot, you really have to have something hard on him.

When Ekse said he thought Coolguy008 and Marked were one in the same, you can bet Ekse had done some digging and baiting. He has superior intuition on this stuff. And I'm certain he sends his hunches in when he can establish it concretely.

  • Glenn Rogers
    Glenn Rogers Jan 19, 2009

The only problem with coolguy and marked is the sheer number of solutions. That's a lot of work and it seems impossible for one person to do this.

We'll have to see what the word is. I suspect that after a long rest and recovery for Lauren she may be able to spend more time on the Loung e and not her Inbox.

I've come across more spam in the last few days than I've seen in the last six months. And, even one in a Tip on the PS3, which I'm writing a set for now by just gleaning out workable fixes from Blogs and Problem sites. Apprently when Sony put their Blue Ray disc reader in the PS3, they used a magnifier on the lens and any dust that gets in on the lens is magnified to the point no disc will play. So, I suspect we'll see a new generation of DVD lens cleaners soon. This will have to transcend the consumer level Blue Ray DVD players which Sony and Panasonic want in every DVD player by the end of this year. And, they're still hard coding the Region number which violates US Court Law. Naturally, Sony is giving US Courts the big finger. However, if you go to a Sony Service Center and ask they will change it for you. This affects our service men and women who buy a player at the PX where they're station and then can't playback and of their DVDs from the US. Such a rip. The only answer is a All 4 One remote and a run down sheet. This: Ginko is good on handling.

Remember all that Eyes Only stuff from the Navy? This is one for FixYa: that guy I pointed to Eitan? He's a tech on FixYa with an Expert account that does other things too. Got me? DO NOT DISSEMINATE.

But, this is not true of RizTech.

When I was told, it reminded me when I busted an undercover cop to the cop shop. That was so cool. Man, I loved the investigative journalism and after that escapade I was "in" at the local PD, That's LAPD.

I agree that call centers probably do not pay what a certified tech would and still get a tic in my face when rakesh said there was an army of help desk people in India. All learning how to "crack" their way to riches I suppose.

This a verification issue that FixYa can impose -if one advertises a certification he/she must provide proof of that. No certification is necessary to be an expert here but false advertising should be part of the TOS.

When I wrap up this f2f job in awhile I will look at riztech's solutions and it should be apparent if he uses his own brain with standard troubleshooting skills.

Here's a question that is suspect. The asker has 10+ years fixing PCs and asks a basic question like this. Also an Indian. Are they soliciting solutions for others questions?

That is really a task for FixYa that I imagine is huge. Even for us just providing data to Lauren could be a perpetual job until some kind of verification is in place. Eiten has Israel as origin and the last is unspecified. India is out of control altogether.

When I see a Live Chat fly by 2 or 3 times I zero in on why especially if it is a long problem to read and a quick draw response.

So many bsers. I was told by my evil sister's attorney that a hearing was on January 27, I double checked and it was on the Internet calendar for this Friday -he has done this twice before! I know he is opposing party but still expect integrity from an officer of the court. Now I have to to the court today to double check everything.

Yes, I could tell when the officers in Control Room were needing a consolation or a "man up" reinforcement in a submarine crisis. Imagine 220 guys in a 292'x34' room for months at a time with every single one an asset or liability to everyone else on an 18 hour day (vice 24). You get downright psychic.

  • Stephen Medley
    Stephen Medley Jan 19, 2009

Everything else on a sub is constant -temp, humidity, 400Hz, hum, lighting, meals -so the salient differences are the humans, their auras and sounds. I imagine deep sea fish live like that. I even know how whales migrate year after year after that.

Yep, right here in Oceanside last year. Guy pulled a pistol on me and demanded my keys and wallet while I was parked and waiting for someone. I reached down to my left and said "Ready for a f-ing firefight right here mf. He was a young gang prospect and I could tell he was unsure of himself. He said :Let's see your gun!" I said that he was stupid to show me his and "when mine comes up you are dead." He said "Hey dude! I thought you were a lamer, man. Chill!"
The child actually wanted to shake hands before moving on and asked once more if he could see mine. I just started to shake my head slowly while staring at him and he said "Nevermind -be cool".
Few words worked ala Clint Eastwood movies, lol. I never had a gun -but I did have a big knife and if he had no bullets or hesitated he would have died. I don't joke about fighting at my age. He left.

    Stephen Medley Jan 19, 2009

No wonder marked got so defensive when I reprimanded him about soliciting me and amusedgeek for a basic problem over and over again asking more and more possible solutions without trying any. I joked that he was writing a book using our info and he came back at me over that!  Ekse stood up for that turkey. I 'll ask Lauren about this junk.

I remember The Prophet well in the same era. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Khalil_Gibr... I also was introduced to several translations of The I' Ching (James Legge's version @ my bedside) along with The Art of War, Siddhartha, Tibetan Book of the Dead, The Ugly American and The Emperor's Handbook (Marcus Aurelius) all here in my hotel room and even the Bible which was almost sensory overload as a teen but now simple wisdom as I turn 60 next month.

Just received a retainer agreement from a new attorney that has a $27K interest in my dear late Mom's estate and have to bounce it off another Probate attorney who was and is a friend and neighbor that said to ensure that a will contest clause be enforced against my sister as part of the agreement. Compliance hearing is Friday for my evil sister to post $40K bond then an inventory of the estate which is where she is most remiss, ergo history.

What is Sony thinking? They already had a similar class action in recent history where they lost.  I asked mistersony about that and he sent me a link about that (haven't seen him recently)

My only bone to pick (or ignore) with our UK friend is his complete lack of accountability for his overt disrespect of FixYa and fellow experts. Perpetuates a sense of mistrust on my part even though this is not a war I still measure men that way.

Forgot my password its a hp pavillion zx5000 and I got a newer hp and for long time did not used it so what can I do

Password for what? If you have a HDD password, then there are only a few things you can do:
  • Full repartition of the HDD (sometimes this does not solve the problem. This is due to different methods of installing a HDD password). Installing the drive in a different system does not help either due to encryption.
  • Send the computer into HP. I know that for end users HP will not provide online or telephone support for this as too many cases have been for stolen computers.
  • Keep trying passwords till you get it right. This is a pain as it restart after X tries.
For repartitioning, I would recommend and boot disk such as http://partedmagic.com/ which includes GParted and CloneZilla

Note: If the partition sector is encrypted it may be difficult to get a new partition scheme installed.

Hi It depend what you want to do.Both course is good. CCNA: The Cisco CCNA network associate certification validates the ability to install, configure, operate, and troubleshoot medium-size routed and switched networks, including implementation and verification of connections to remote sites in a WAN. This new curriculum includes basic mitigation of security threats, introduction to wireless networking concepts and terminology, and performance-based skills. This new curriculum also includes (but is not limited to) the use of these protocols: IP, Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (EIGRP), Serial Line Interface Protocol Frame Relay, Routing Information Protocol Version 2 (RIPv2),VLANs, Ethernet, access control lists (ACLs) More information about CCNA: http://cisco.com/web/learning/le3/le2/le0/le9/learning_certification_type_home.html MSCE: Read this will help you decide. http://www.microsoft.com/learning/mcp/mcse/windows2003/default.mspx Good Luck.
