SOURCE: I'm looking for a repair

Hello,

The truth is that the repair manual for your Frigidaire microwave is not available anywhere online. The manufacturers of this unit did not make it available. I went further searching and couldn't find any.

I would suggest you contact the manufacturer of this unit via phone or e-mail and request for the repair manual from them. They might give it to you or direct you to a dealer where you can get the repair manual.

This is the best you can do to get the repair manual you are requesting for.

Go to Frigidaire's website, check "Contact Us" and you would see their e-mail and phone number.

Additional information concerning your Microwave's Magnetron;

A defective magnetron is the third possible cause of why your microwave is not heating, but you can hear a buzzing noise. Test your microwave's magnetron. Replace it if it is defective.

Testing a magnetron

NOTE: Before you test this component, make sure your microwave is unplugged, and that you have discharged the capacitor.

There are two tests to conduct in order to determine whether or not a magnetron has become defective. If you receive results other than what are detailed below, you will have to replace your microwave's magnetron. Each test is described for you here:

TEST 1: Locate your magnetron and label each of the wires attached to it so that you know which wires are to be replaced where. Set your ohmmeter to the lowest resistance scale. Take a resistance measurement between each of the magnetron's terminals by touching each probe to one terminal each. Reverse the probes and take a second resistance measurement. Each measurement should read less than one ohm.

TEST 2: Set your ohmmeter to its highest resistance scale. Touch one of the meter's probes to a magnetron terminal. Touch the other probe to the metal magnetron housing. Take special caution to not touch the two probes together. This could result in an inaccurate reading. This test should produce a reading of infinity - indicating an open circuit.

Read the tips on the below links on how to replace your microwave oven's diode and how to discharge the capacitor.

CAUTION: Your microwave oven is capable of giving you a serious electrical shock, even when it is unplugged.

Good luck.

Fuse location

Good Afternoon Friend, that's a great question!

Depending on the model of your Frigidaire microwave, the fuses are typically on located behind the control console, on the magnetron or on the oven capacity. However, if your microwave does not heat, you may possibly have a faulty control panel, magnetron, or experiencing an issue with the power supply. Please confirm that your microwave is plug into its own outlet and that you are not using a GFI outlet. Hope this helps! - Z

Replacing the magnetron on a microwave

Good Morning Friend,

I understand that you want to replace the magnetron on your Frigidaire microwave, model# FMV156DC. Typically, this is not a do it yourself repair, as there are no step by step instructions, and could potentially be hazardous. I suggest contacting your local authorized technician for further assistance. They will be able to diagnose your appliance and determine if it is just the magnetron that is needed or if there could possibly be different or more parts that are needed. Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

Microwave is not heating

There are three parts that will trigger this problem, the magnetron "common issue" or the high voltage capacitor and diode, if the magnetron is the problem it is cheaper to replace the microwave oven for a new one.

Frigidaire MIcrowave does not heat food and it makes a noise

The usual answer here is that the magnetron has failed and is trying to blow the fuse. This seems to be a common failure with Asian manufactured magnetrons. The cost of a typical repair may induce you to purchase a new machine. Hope this helps!

The most likely problem is the magnetron. Check your warranty in owners manual, I believe you have five year warranty on magnetron.
