Small four bolt pattern for wall mounting. Someone suggested 8/40 screws but I wasn't aware that a #8 machine screw had such a fine thread.

SOURCE: Remove the base for wall mount

just spoke with a Coby technician. Where the base connects to the TV you can literally just squeeze in those the plastic pieces and they come right off. After that just unscrew the screws underneath. Just did it and it was very easy.

Fixing half of a door chain to a metal frame.

Two options. Look into a "toggle" or any type of wall anchor in the hardware department of any decent home improvement store and you should that works great. A toggle will go into the hole and expand open once it gets out in the open on the other side.

Size of wall mount for GPX LED HDTV

Not sure what you are asking. Are you looking for the screw for the attaching the mount to the TV or the mount to the wall.
If you are looking for the screw size for the back of the TV, it could be metric size M6 or M8. Just be careful of the length. Too long and you will ruin the TV. Maybe google the TV model and it might show in the owner manual the exact screw to use.

Removal of the stand on LG47LG7000 HT503P

This needs to be done with real care, set usually will need to be laid face down on a padded surface with no weight on the screen itself.

The base will be secured to the set with between four and six bolts or screws, usually fine thread bolts.
