If you have to ask that, you need to hire a professional,
don't attempt this yourself, no, really, don't try it.

I have two ceiling lights in a room. Want to install ceiling fan in one outlet. How do I wire it so that I can have fan in one place but turn off light in other? Do I have to hot-wire ceiling fan?

You simply use the ceiling fan switch to power the fan. U can hook it up in parallel to the other light fixture. The wall switch can power both units but you can always shut off the fan. To run the fan and kill the light you would need a separate circuit for the light with its own switch. Or hot wire the fan as you indicated.

After installation the whole fan wobbles. it is standard installation

The most important thing about installing a ceiling fan is to use the proper ceiling box, one that is approved and very firmly fastened to the ceiling joists. If this is not done and the fan is only attached to an existing ceiling box, it may end up being out of balance and wobbling, not to mention being very dangerous.

a celing fan should only be mounted on a box rated for a ceiling fan. This is a NEC code requirement. You could remove your existing box, and install a new box rated for a ceiling fan. You install the adjustable cross bar, and then attach the box to it. It also has stronger threaded inserts for the fan attaching bolts. Better than having a fan flying through the room.

I want to install a ceiling fan. My ceiling is 80 year old lathe and plaster design. Will the vibration from fan movement cause my ceiling to crack?

mcdevito75 here, Hopefully your ceiling fan will go where there has been an already light fixture, if so, that light fixture shoud be mounted to the ceiling beam, and your new fan will be mounted the same way. If by chance your new ceiling fan is being mounted where nothing was ever mounted you"ll have to make sure the ceiling fan will mount to a beam, they are every 16 inches apart. This way you:"ll know that vibration from the fan won"t hurt anything.

Light does not come on in the ceiling fan

"from the ceiling fan we have black, blue, and white. On the mounting bracket is green. We installed black and blue from the fan motor to the black in the ceiling."

If your fan is working and the light isn't and they are tied to the same wire (black wire), then you might have a bad pull chain switch or bulb.

Hunter ceiling fan-just installed -possible speed control problem

Sounds like the fan is defective. All internal wiring from the switch to the motor is factory installed. The fan has power going to it. Just to make sure, double check the wiring from the ceiling fixture to the fan.
Problem could be a faulty switch on the fan or faulty motor(bad winding for med. speed). Try reverse switch on the fan to operate the opposite direction and see if medium speed works. If medium does work in opposite direction, it pretty much points to a defective fan. In any case, unless you discover that the ceiling wires were reversed going into the fan, I'd say new fan to the returns dept.

My home is pre wired for a ceiling fan in the master bedroom. There are two light switches that control the pre installed wires. One for the light on the fan and one for the fan. There are four wires

The usual wiruing for these fan/light circuits is that the black wire on one switch is for the fan and the red on the other switch is for the light. If you are using a remote set up for both fan and light, then hook the remote wires to the black and white wires in the ceiling, You can cap off the red wire in the ceiling as this will not be used.

Hello, Just had a casabalanca 84u45d ceiling fan installed. Seems to low. Installer said cannot go any closer to ceiling.Store said it should. Who is correct.Need as close to ceiling as apossible.tks

According to the model # you gave the fan has a 2-3" down rod. You can not get ride of that or you can not mount the fan. here is a manual for the fan that you listed. On page 3 you will see how to mount to ceiling. If this is not the fan give me the right one so I can see if it can be flush mounted to the ceiling.
