13.20.00 paper jam. But there is no paper in the system. I checked from all sides but there is no paper in it. I restarted to check if the paper path is cleared but no change.

13.20.00 JAM INSIDE <LOCATION>

Paper has not moved past a certain paper
sensor. <LOCATION> can be one of the
following locations.

? TRAY 2
Remove the tray, and then check the
paper path for obstructions. Perform a
manual sensor test and observe the prefeed
sensor (PS102) status (B). Toggle
the sensor flag to determine if the status
changes.
? TOP COVER
Remove the print cartridge, and then
check the paper path for obstructions.
Verify that the top-of-page sensor
(PS103) and the media width sensors
(PS106 and PS108) are unblocked.
Perform a manual sensor test and
observe the status of these sensors.
Toggle the sensor flags to determine if
their status changes.
? REAR DOOR
Open or remove the rear face-up bin,
and then check the paper path on each
side of the fusing assembly for
obstructions. Remove the fuser, if
necessary. Perform a manual sensor
test and observe the fuser delivery
sensor (PS700) status (C). Toggle the
sensor flag to determine if the status
changes.
? DUPLEXER (only printers with duplex)
Remove the duplexer, and then check
the paper path for obstructions. If the
message persists, replace the duplexer.

This copier has 4 sensor
1. paper sensor
It is called paper sensor its installed paper tray
2.Drawer sensor
3. Drive sensor its installed middle position
4. Exit sensor it is in fuser unite.
May be any sensor displace or broken.So you should check it.
Good luck.

My HP Color Laserjet 3600n had a paper jam. The

Your best method of troubleshooting is the manual sensor test as this is a generic paper jam error.

on your sensor tests:

0 = off
1 = on

A = TOP OF PAGE SENSOR
B = PAPER LOOP SENSOR
C = N/A
D = FUSER PAPER SENSOR
E = DELIVERY-TRAY PAPER-FULL SENSOR
F = FUSER PRESSURE-RELEASE SENSOR
G = MEDIA SENSOR
H = N/A
I = MP TRAY SENSOR
J = CASSETTE SENSOR
K = DOOR OPEN DETECTION SWITCH
L = DEVELOPING ESTRANGEMENT SENSOR - CLR
M = DEVELOPING ESTRANGEMENT SENSOR - BLK
N = MP TRAY MEDIA POSITION SENSOR

A-F are paper path sensors - you can toggle them and watch if they change from 0 to 1. If they do, the problem is not in that area.

G can have states from 0-7 each one representing a different type of paper - shouldn't have anything to do with jamming.

hope this helps. probably a tiny piece of paper or toner somewhere. could also be a torsion spring out of position on a flag.

When paper is fitted in, error message says paper out

If the printer is displaying the paper out message on the display this may be because the Paper Sensor needs to be calibrated for the type of paper being used in the printer. The Paper Sensor on the T6218 is an optical sensor that reflects light off the back of the paper, different coloured paper or different paper finish may mean the paper sensor needs to be recalibrated.

The T6218 has a facility to calibrate the paper out sensor. This option is within the Technical Access Menu.
To access the technical access menu put the T6218 offline then press and hold down the LINE FEED and ENTER BUTTONS both at the same time, and keep the buttons held down for approximately 5-6 seconds until TECHNICAL ACCESS ON flashes up on the display.
Once Technical Access had been enabled the Paper Out Sensor routine can be accessed via the menu on the printer.

1. With the printer OFFLINE , press the MENU button
2. Press the DOWN ARROW to TEST, press ENTER
3. Press the DOWN ARROW to DIAG, press ENTER
4. Press the DOWN ARROW until CALIBRATION is displayed, press ENTER
5. Press the DOWN ARROW until PAPER OUT is displayed, press ENTER
6. Follow the instructions on the display which will advise to remove the paper, then reinsert the paper. Once this has been carried out this should calibrate the paper out sensor.

If you are unable to access the Menu on the printer because the printer is displaying the Paper Out Message, you can turn on the FAULT OVERIDE by
pressing and holding down FORM FEED and ENTER, until the printer displays FAULT OVER RIDE ON after you have enabled the TECHNICAL ACCESS menu, this will then let you calibrate paper out sensor.

If calibrating the paper out sensor does not resolve the issue there may be a fault with the paper out sensor, a connectivity problem or a logic problem.

Paper jam 2 - checked every area - cut equipment off and back on - still paper jam 2 - need service person asap.

there are 4 or 5 sensors through paper road:
1)paper input sensor near input roller
2)margin sensor between input roller and cartridge unit
3)transfer bell sensor between cartridge and fuser unit
4)fusing sensor before fusing
5)out put tray sensor
check all sensors if you can find out and check any paper jam there and check sensor stander at normal position, also check each sensor click ok(the micro switch ok) .
there is any sensor out of work should be showing paper jam.

Cannon printer pixma mp470 paper jam

hmm, could you be more specific?. But I'll try to solve anyway
Paper jam error occurs because:
  • Paper end not detected by paper sensor; set paper properly and press Stop/Reset button
  • Paper sensor broken; replace paper sensor
  • Drive assy broken; replace drive assy
But before it all please check if any broken paper or another material is in paper path blocking the paper to reach paper sensor.
Good luck!

Printer thinks its out of paper

  1. Open the Document Feeder by placing your fingers under the opening where you feed paper, and lifting upwards.
  2. Locate the black Paper Sensor (the black plastic switch that hangs down).
  3. Make sure the Paper Sensor is not pressed in. It should move up and down freely.
  4. If the Paper Sensor is stuck in the up position, try to gently pull the Paper Sensor back down.
  5. Turn the power off by pressing the Power Switch to the [ O ] position.
  6. Turn the power back on by pressing the Power Switch to the [ | ] position.
  7. Try to make a copy using the Document Feeder.
  • If the Paper Sensor is broken off or pushed in, you will need service on your WorkCentre.
  • If the Paper Sensor is not broken off or pushed in, the Paper Sensor not the cause of the problem
