Yeah, that's difficult if you don't have some knowledge about electronics and technical experties. just let your unit repaired by a professional technician.in order for your unit not to get worst.

Good luck! have a nice day

Powers up, fans work, but nothing happens. Can not even get into the Bios. red light on between the power connection and the IDE connections?

I will assume that you have everything connected properly and are using the integrated video on the motherboard (not a separate video card installed in a slot). Usually the red light on the motherboard (mobo) is a power-on light, meaning that it is plugged in to a power socket.

First try to clear your CMOS settings:
Unplug the power cord and remove the CMOS battery for 15 minutes. If your mobo has a BIOS reset jumper, move it to the Clear position and back to normal. If you aren't sure what these things are, it will be in your manual that came with the mobo. Now re-connect everything and try again. Make sure that you are plugging the video cable into the proper socket and your monitor is working. If you can use a DVI cable on that board, try that connector. Make sure your monitor is working.
>Visually check for failed capacitors; caps that have ruptured are increasingly common and can stop booting.
>Your CPU may have failed; this is a typical situation then the chip fails. Everything works except there is no video on the monitor.

Problem with BIOS. Cannot change system date.

Put all default setting on CMOS setup and then set the date by checking that the replaced one battery is energetic enough to meet the system requirement. I mean to say having 3V as it should have.

best of luck!

I wanted to install a different OS on my computer, but the DVD drive wasn't being detected. I went into the bios screen and disabled everything except the dvd drive, but now it only gives me a message...

Disconnect power. Locate the battery on the MOBO. Near the battery should be a jumper on the two pins indicated as "NORM" move the jumper to the "CLR" position for 10 seconds or so and put it back on "NORM". Plug it back in and start it up, pressing the F12 key to get to boot options so you can select the DVD drive to boot from. Good luck with the install..

Hi, my DV9700 battery does not charge, adapter works but does not charge or run the computer on its own. I have had it checked and everything seems fine, they suggest the motherboard but I explained that...

This may sound stupid but try this, for some reason this seem to work on 6 and 9000 units with charging problems.
With the unit running, disconnect the battery and allow the unit to run for 60 seconds, then plug the battery back in, again with the unit running.

How to save computers during flood?

well, the best solution to that situation would be a back up, back up your files and put it somewhere else or online back up, you can always restore all the files on any computer. once the computer is flooded there is no way to repair those computers. it's a complete loss.

Hp paviilion will not power up

try removing the battery and switch on your notebook using the ac adapter only if it works then i think you need a replacement for the battery or you can try to power cycle your notebook i hope it applies to hp notebooks coz it works all the time with dell vostro. to power cycle: unplug/remove ac adapter, battery, usb devices (mp3, ipod, printers, etc) optical drive, network cable then press and hold the power button not less than 10 seconds then put everything back except for the usb devices and network cable if it works then you can plug everything back again.

No signal on monitor

You might try switching the VGA cable if you haven't. If that doesn't work then I'd agree with you in saying the motherboard is likely fried.
