42 " plasma cutting out and making a loud clicking noise

I have a 42" plasma which is 2 days old but after it has been on for 35-40 minutes it cuts out and makes a loud clicking sound. The instructions say to re-set it by using the on-off switch but this does not work. Anyone else experience this problem?

I would have to say take it back. Make them replace it before you get stuck with it. Customer satisfaction is on your side. 90 day warranty.

Philips 42" PFP5332D/37 turns on then cuts out on pic and sound

It sounds like your High Voltage transformer is arcing.
Sometimes it can be repaired if not it is an expensive fix.
If you can see in the back of it look for sparks inside but do
not remove the rear panel, you can get zapped with 40,000 volts!

42" panasonic viesta plasma tv cuts off after about 30 minutes

Hello gws51,

This sounds like a shutdown circuit proble, which is caused by the draw of excessive current. I would suggest that you have a qualified TV repair person look at you set and repair it.

I hope this helps

Thank you,

Loud noise

You MAY have some condensation in a high voltage path inside.
The noise might well be from leaking high voltage.

I recommend you let it climatize for a couple of days before trying it again, otherwise you may damage circuitry not normally involved with production of the HV.
