SOURCE: UVERSE REMOTE CAN NOT TURN OFF VIZIO 42' TV

The documentation that came with my U-Verse equipment doesn't list Vizio products, but I have been using 1343 which I saw suggested on another website. AT&T's support site has a new code list (http://www.att.com/support_media/images/pdf/uverse/set-up-code-list.pdf) showing Vizio under the TV section as 1489 and in the HDTV section as 1429, 1433, or 1439.

None of the codes listed for Vizio work with my Vizio LCD(model VO370M), but the 1343 code I've been using successfully is listed in the new list as an LG HDTV code.

My 65 inch Vizio smart TV won’t answer to remote and turn on

If your Vizio remote quits working, it can from having low batteries, or a blocked TV sensor or a power residue of the remote and the TV or a dirty power source or a stuck memory of the remote or problems with the TV itself.
Make sure that none of the remote buttons are stuck or jammed . Try and reset the remote. The remote might not work temporarily due to the poor contact of the battery or and static electricity. Remove the batteries from the remote.

42" Vizio tv. It turns on and turns right back off. It worked perfectly fine until my cat jumped on the remote and now I have no idea what's wrong with it. I think it can be fixed if anyone knows anything...

1. pull battery from remote for 10 seconds. This will force reboot of remote. test, if fail move ahead,

2. do a main reset on Tv,, pull power plug from power source,, wait 10 seconds, reconnect, turn on!, fail continue

3. ? when you turn on TV is the stand by led light amber, when you turn on LED\'s does it start to change color , but standby light is still on? if test positive with findings issue should be your motherboard or even power board but it should be Mo/Bo..

My Vizio Tv won't turn on

The power supply regulator board shouldbe ckecked for fault. Check the fuse. If it is found burned out, find the reson for that. Surely there will be a reson for blowing of the fuse, if it is blown up. Without rectfying it, inserting an other fuse in place, might make things more worse.

Sound not working, Was working earlier today and after shutting off the tv, when we turned it back on, sound wasen't working

Sound issues and answersa short list:

sound on set or a box muted or turned down?

speakers inside the set (see menu) switchedon or off?

internal/external switch somewhere in or on back of set?

Clearly it could be a audio problem (a model number?) but explore all here thatyou have not already done--make sure theremote set to TV and look for a button on it marked MTS and if there cycle it.

You can also determine if same trouble when you play a DVD.

Tv won't switch to "tv"

Your T.V. is programmed to store the last input you've selected. You have to manually switch it back to your T.V. channel input after each time you switch it to HDMI or any other input even when you turn it off. The "Source" or "Input" button on your original T.V. remote will change this.

My vizio e420vl turned itself off and won't turn back on. When i plug it in the vizio logo lights up amber but it won't do anything else.

There are at least two power supplies in any set with remote capabilities; one is on any time the set is plugged into AC and is supplying that indicator and the receiving circuit of the remote, otherwise it wouldn't turn on under normal conditions. The second power supply produces the needed service voltages used when the set is in use. This second supply is a common failure in many sets and it is generally traceable to poor design and the use of low-quality components of a certain type. Vizio may have a repair or exchange program through their service center. I would guess the cost will be between $50-$150 and you might remove the back panel of the set and look for a smaller board with larger-than-average parts on it and is related to the AC cord coming in. It should be fairly easy to remove and replace as these are often outsourced and just plugged into the rest of the set with dissimilar plugs making it simple to install and reinstall.

Vizio remote control not working

Hi, I had the same problem. My vizio remote for my 42 inch 2 month old vizio also seemed to stop working. Here's what I did: My vizio remote (like most remote's nowadays) was designed for multiple components (tv, dvd, vcr, etc). All you need to do to make the remote work again is set it back to tv. Now, the confusing thing about vizio remotes is that they actually have TWO places where you can switch the remote to the appliance you want to control. One is on top of the remote, the other is on the BOTTOM. Switch it back to TV using the BOTTOM. My remote had stopped working because I had inadvently switched it to another component on the BOTTOM component switch.
