SOURCE: I need to replace the internal Atheros ar9285 wireless adapter in my Asus K52F laptop and need location and a compatible adapter

Hello,

The wireless card should be under one of the removable panels on the bottom of the laptop. It will have two thin wires going to it (antennas). Pull the wires straight up off he card (pop the little gold-plated connector at the end of the wire off the card) and remove the wireless card. It is either a mini or micro pci-express card. You don't need to replace it with the exact identical item. Any manufacturers wireless card that fits the slot should work just fine with your laptop providing you have the proper drivers for it.

Hope this helps!
