I'm sure this problem is gone and past by now but what the heck I'll answer it anyways. The default password is 136900. The problem I'm having now is everytime i want to use my player it asks for the password, so how do I turn this off.

I'm having the SAME exact problem with mine. Is yours hooked up through HDMI? It happens to me with HDMI but if I hook it up through component it works just fine. I tried looking on the philips website to see if they had firmware updates, but they have NOTHING listed. I emailed them today to see if they have a fix for it. Waiting to here back from them...
