You didn't supply the Computer make, model or the OS you are using. It would be very helpful to have that info. My first suggestion would be to runn a Malware scam and a Anti Virus scan. A general clean of the software environment. 1. download Freeware MALWAREBYTES at :http://www.filehippo.com/download_malwarebytes_anti_malware/. In the install UNCHECK the PRO TRIAL version, you want the freeware version. Run a FULL SCAN, DELETE ALL RESULTS, REBOOT. 2. Download CCLEANER Freeware at : http://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/. This will clean the junk from your machine, and in TOOLS, STARTUP, disable ALL unnessary startup programs to speed up your computer. You can find many Freeware programs on FILEHIPPO, MAJORGEEKS . That's a start. respond to post for further assistance.

During initial setup, my SlingCatcher hangs when trying to update the firmware.

Welcome to club! No solution as yet and it was escalated to a senior engineer who also seems to have no idea what is going on. From all appearances, it would seem the SlingCatcher is unable to establish contact with the servers at Sling. Unfortunately I do not have a sniffer available at this time to see exactly where the SlingCatcher is try to go. The box gets an IP address and can be ping'ed so the core software is working. Hopefully more answers will be forthcoming.

AT POST motherboard hang at INITIALIZING USB.....

Several things you can try:
  • Remove the CMOS battery leave for 10 minutes and re-insert and try to reboot
  • If this fails to solve the issue, check the BIOS (F2 on boot) and disable USB legacy support
  • Then if that fails, try swapping out the RAM modules until you manage to get a successful boot.
  • If you suceed in this, download memtest and check the integrity of the ram modules, it may be you have an intermittently faulty ram module.
  • If this fails, it is likely that the USB controllers on the motherboard are damaged

My motherboard have four leds in red light, d0 dled2,dled3 and don`t start up

Hi ntamayo,

Here is the description of what the four leds indicate:

When your motherboard is stuck on any of these signals, that's a clue that something is wrong with that particular device on the board. Replace it and try again.

OK I had the RCA DMC425 plugged into my laptopalright easy.I unpluggled eveything turned off the laptop so i can clean around my computer desk. When i finished i plugged everything back in and soonenough it...

troubleshooting a network is a multiple step process.
1. Establish that your modem is working properly, and plugged in. As per the diagram shown here:
  • Your "Cable link" light should be on (signifying that the outside cable is properly connected to the router)
  • Your "Internet" light should be on (signifying you have an established Internet connection)
  • And, most importantly, your "PC Link" light should be on (showing that at least as far as the modem is concerned, it is detecting that the computer is plugged in to it.
2. double check to make sure that the network cables are seated properly, and plugged in all the way. the PC link light should give you an indication for modem-side- the LED light around the network cable jack on the laptop should give you an indication PC-side.
3. check on your laptop for any security software that may restrict new networks from being detected and disable them to test. For example, Symantec or Mcaffee Firewall can sometimes block a "new" network from being detected.
4. Completely shut down the laptop and unplug the power cord from the modem. Plug the modem back in. Wait around 3 minutes for the modem to initialize and do it's thing- then turn on your laptop and see if this resolved your issue.
If this doesn't work, you may want to try other things, such as resetting your network, and removing/re-installing your network adapter drivers.

Reboots at different times, some times windows logo is grayed out and hangs

its is possible that you have some bad memory search & download a program called memcheck 1.70 or later, and either put it on a formated floppy or burn onto a cd ,make sure that the boot sequence in the bios is set to go to that drive first
the pc will boot into this program and will keep running untill you stop it,if their are any errors it will show up ,you will need to establish what memory chip it is, if you have more than one chip.

it could also be a power supply, supplying iregular voltage.

also xp requires at LEAST 256 mbs to run badly, more is better.so if you are using less than 256 mbs it will be the problem.

good luch
