Do you leave the router switched on all the time? If not then this can be your problem as some routers can take up to 3 days to get full signal strength and keep it. When switching the router off and powering back up it has to search for the signal again. It will happen whether you are wireless or cable.
If you are wireless and router is always on it may be where it is located, walls can interfere with the signals so try moving it to another area to see if that helps.

I have HP Pavilion Entertainment PC and I'm currently connected to the internet via a wirelss router. My roommates are also connected to the same router and they have not had any issues with...

Try positioning your computer next to the router - or within line of sight of the router - see if the limited connectivity thing comes up. It probably won't. Then try placing your laptop at the same spot where your roommate(s) normally uses his or hers or their computers and see if that makes any difference.

Wireless signals can go thru walls, or bounce off of anything that it can't go thru - so we're all trying to catch a good bounce and hence, location matters a lot. Sometimes moving a wireless router can make a huge difference - like moving it from behind the TV to above the TV for better broadcasting (cause the signal ain't gonna go thru a TV's power supply). Anyway, that'd be how I'd go about troubleshooting this issue....

I set up a wireless network with a linksys router, however, although the added computer shows that I am connected to the network, I am not able to gain wireless internet access, I am only able to get it...

First right click that connection and left click repair. That should show you the problem and try to fix it.
Next if that fails type in 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.1.0 This should connect you to the router itself. Then in the user name put in admin and password...put the word password in. Then look on the left and see what the settings are. Do this while it is wired now. Let me know what else it does or doesn't and I will try to walk you thru it and thanks for using FixYa.

I have a wireless router (netgear rangemax) and had my laptop connected to it. I connected my ps3 to the internet and now i cannot get internet connection thru my laptop. my network says i have...

If nothing was changed in the router after connecting your PS3, possible that the devices are not syncing properly. Do a power cycle. Turn of all of your devices including the router and the modem. Wait for about a minute and turn them on in this order. Modem, wait for the lights to stabilize, then the rotuer, wait for power become solid gree. then turne the Laptop and PS3. See if this will help.

Linksys N router drops signal

Its not dropping you because of the spectrums, it works on line of sight. If you are in a basement and your router is upstairs it has to go thru a floor and the strength is weakened. Go into your router and increase the signal strength. But you have to mod your firmware.

Trouble reconfiguring WGR614 v5 after reset

Dear Koteshst

Is it the router that's showing 'Limitted and no connectivity' or the PC trying to connect to the router? If it's the latter make sure that the router is configured to assign IP addresses via DHCP and that your WEP/WPA keys match on both sides. If it's the former check your authentication info for SBC.

Let me know.
