Make sure that your modem acctually has wireless capability, enter a manuel ip address and gateway that should do it you can find out ur ip address and router settings at routerlogin.net and you should be connected to youre router if a username and password are required then there are websites conntaining all default passwords, most will be admin and password

Wont stop flashing green and I can not connect to xbox live yet I used to be able to Any Help Thanks, Paul

IF The LIGHT IS FLASHING GREEN then there is something wrong with your wireless network
Check your network settings and Retry connecting

Check the adapter's status light loadTOCNode(2, 'moreinformation'); The adapter's status light can tell you a lot about the state that the adapter is in. Here's what the different lights mean:
  • Steady green light: The adapter is connected to a wireless router, gateway, or access point. The adapter is ready to use.

  • Steady red light: The adapter is not recognized. Try plugging the adapter into a USB port on the front of the Xbox 360 console.
  • Flashing green: The adapter is attempting to connect to a wireless network.
  • Flashing red light: There is a problem. The adapter might be experiencing a hardware failure. Contact Xbox support at http://www.xbox.com/support/contact (http://www.xbox.com/support/contact) .
  • No light: The adapter is not receiving power. Unplug the USB connector and plug it in again. Still no light? Try plugging the adapter into a USB port on the front of the console

My xbox got the red rings of death and i had to replace my power supply, i just starteed up my xbox again and the light on the wireless adapter wont even turn red, well if i wiggle the cord it flashes red...

There are links that show you how to repair this issue yourself (but they are not very clear and every thing is very fragile inside the XBOX 360) or you can contact me via email at mycharminglife@gmail.com and we can discuss the issue further as I recently repaired my XBOX 360 with the same issues and it works better than when was brand new.

Ive just got an xbox 360 adaptor for xbox live and the light is still on red on the back of the xbox live adaptor, how do you get it to a green light beacuse ive tried everything. many thanks cameron

You need to first set up your connection...the red light indicates there is no connection....you need to make sure your internet has a wireless network and u need to selct ur network from ur network settings in xbox360.

The xbox live adaptor goes red

Red means hardware failure.
If they are steady red, that means they are ready to be connected to a network (must have been knocked off the router).

In the 360 System Dboard, go to the system blade and select Network Settings, then Edit Settings, and then Wireless Mode.
Test the connection finally.

Xbox 360 is not detecting the network adaptor. light is constant red. also, the xbox will not let me configure the wireless network.

the problem is that your xbox rejects the adapter. try another adapter or try plugging it in to another port. I cannot for sure say its your xbox but it may be the adapter so try another one. if it works your adapter is not sending any information to your xbox and cannot be used. if it doesn't your xbox wont accept any hardware. to be sure its your xbox try connecting it through a ethernet cable. if it works your xbox cannot connect to that adapter..
