First make sure it is ready and formatted. Then treat like any other drive.

Hold the power button down for up to 15 seconds. This should hard reset it. Not to be confused with erasing data.

Turn off hold these 3 keys in this order volume up then home button and last power button. Wait until samsung logo appears and let go power button. When you got a menu with volume keys select wipe user data confirm selection with power botton. Last step it will ask to cofirm again select "Yes" and confirm with pwer button again. Hope this help you!
Note: These steps clear data from the device. SD card data like your photos and music are not erased unless you choose to format the SD card.
2. Release the Power button when you see the Samsung logo, but continue to hold Volume Upuntil the recovery screen appears.
3. Use the Volume buttons to navigate the menu and select wipe data / factory reset. PressHome to choose the selection.
4. Press Volume Up continue.
The Galaxy Tab should then go through the hard reset process.
If you have access to the OS, you can also perform a hard reset in Settings.
1. Open the Settings app.
2. Select Privacy.
3. Choose Factory data reset.
