Most likely cause is bad filters on the main board. This is common problem and will require the main board to be replaced.

Do the standby light ON. If not check the 5V supply rail on the main board. If standby light is ON, and it blinks? If so, these blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices. Viewing it in "Mosaic" or "Magazine" will make surf easy.

most LG have a "vacation switch" on the bottom right hand side of the set very near that standby light.

it is placed poorly, where you can accidently click when grabbing the TV to move it or swivel it.

it is a toggle switch, a "master power" switch.

you may have bumped it to the off position. flip the switch, your standby light will come back on.

Does it make the the samsung jingle when it trys to turn on? if it does you need a power supply if not then most likely it is the main board. I would contact you r local service center for help and if the standby lights in the front blink in a certain pattern write that down it is a error code that the technicain can use to solve the problem.
