I have a pioneer super tuner 3 (had since new). It was installed and worked great in one of my cars but when I had my mechanic install it the radio does not work. If there a "lock" of some sorts on the radio? Thanks, Tim Seattle

Everything is fixable, problem is the cost. Only way is to go to some car-radio technician and ask him a diagnosis and an estimate. If you feel that it's worth to invest in repairing your radio, so go along.
Pioneer stereos clock setting
1)turn car iginition "ON"
2)turn stereo ON and then OFF.
3)Press SRC or Joystick until blinking clock appears
4)Set clock by pressing rt,left &top, bottom keys around volume knob (joystick).
i hope this helps.
If it's been installed with the original DIN mount, there are 2 small flat clips that slide in a small slot on each side of the radio. The 2 pieces of metal are pushed in to release the clips holding the radio in the bracket. Then the radio pulls out
Those clips come with the Pioneer stereo but should be available from a place that sells/installs car audio
