My cursor disappears and then reappears in the bottom right of the screen, usually causing me to inadvertantly launch another application. I can go for hours of use with no problems, but when it starts happening it will move the cursor every 2-5 seconds.

Have heard about a driver conflict that has affected another manufacturers laptops. Any ideas?

The page scrolls up and down - somtimes even jumps up and down - when the cursor is nowhere near the right hand of the screen where the vertical scroll bar is.

It is possible you might have picked up a virus, or a bad device driver. Try a system restore taking the computer back in time before this happened, may resolve the issue.

The cursor jumps somewhere else on the screen as I am typing causing me to stop typing and put the cursor back at the end of the text which I am writing. If I don't spot it straight away it can mean I have...

chances are you are either taping the mouse pad or if you have one of those glide sticks in your keyboard, its probably that. If you right click on the mosepad icon in the bottom right tool bar (by the clock) click properties and in there you should be able to disable the glide stick and also disable the mousepad if it senses a usb mouse is being used. Let me know what you find out.

Toshiba Satellite A215-S7437 will not boot up...

Take out the hard drive completely and then see if you hear the clicking noise, if you do then that means the hard drive is bad. Also if it goes right to another message and you don't see the blinking cursor then that also verifies that the hard drive was bad and causing the system to hang.

Cursor won't stay where I move it with the mouse

Hi, your first problem (and possibly second problem) sounds like it's the "Insert" function on your keyboard. I've seen this a lot. Find the Insert key on your keyboard. It's normally off to the right side with the Home, End, Page Up, and Page Down keys. When you have the problem, press the Insert key and then keep typing. It should toggle between the cursor moving with typing, and not. If this was helpful, please rate my response. Thanks!

Cursor jumps around

Does the cursor jump around when your hands are nowhere near the touchpad? The touchpads are heat and pressure sensitive. I personally have very warm (and sometimes sweaty) hands. I have this problem often when working on laptops. If I hover my hands over the pad, it causes the mouse to move. I've had to take a business card, put tape on one side of it, and use it as a flip-cover for the touchpad on most of my laptops. If the cursor moves around when you're nowhere near the laptop, then you may want to try disabling the pointing stick (if it has one). I've had several clients with laptops where the pointing stick mouse control go crazy and move and click on things.

When I'm typing, the cursor moves

To resolve this issue please follow the steps below:-
1) Locate the picture icon called "Synaptics Touchpad" or "Pointing Device" that is located next to the digital time (usually in the bottom right hand side of the screen).
2) Click on the icon with the right-hand mouse clicker and select the option: MOUSE PROPERTIES in the small sub-menu that pops up.
3) You should now see a new window dominating the screen with several options and tabs along the top. Select the "Tapping" tab listed there with the left-hand mouse clicker.
4) When Tapping Selected the menu window will change presenting some new options. There should be an option near the bottom of the menu called "Tap off when typing" Click the box next to this menu option, success will bring up a little tick in the box clicked on.
5) To the right of the "Tap off when typing" option there should be a new sliding controller available with two options on either end (Short ---- Long) and a triangular shaped slider button in the middle of the two. The triangular shaped button needs to be moved to approximately three-quarters to the right (towards "long").
6) Once above step has been completed left click select the "Apply" button on the bottom right hand side of the menu, and then click "Ok" to confirm changes.

Hope this solves your problem :0)
