Question about Pioneer DEH-P4100

Open Question

I have a sirius unit in my pioneer deh-p4100, and after disconnecting the car battery, I lost the aux option....I forgot how to get back to the aux

I thought the "source" button brought up the aux option, but all I get is fm or cd.......is my aux for sirius gone?

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

SOURCE: Pioneer DEH-P4800MP - Can not get into INITIAL mode to change settings

Actually, TRY powering OFF the unit, and release the volume button. Then, press and hold ONLY THE VOLUME BUTTON, until the initial settings appear. Pioneer really needs to get their act together on this issue. I have read all over that MANY people have had this issue, and the website is just a repeat of their lame printed manual.

Hope this helps. In review:

From OFF, press and hold ONLY THE VOLUME BUTTON. The initial settings shall appear at this point after about three seconds...

I just read these instructions, and while trying it, I found that my FUNCTION KEY had ABSOLUTELY NO FUNCTION IN THIS.

SOURCE: I can't select aux when I plug my ipod into my Pioneer stereo.

I think this can be done with the stereo on but you have to hold down either the e button or 1 of the buttons on the right side of face(not audio)maybe and a menu will pop up and you should run into a screen that ask off on or off you will want it on and then you should be able to access ur ipod by pressing the source button.Hope this helps.

try pressing the reset switch. should be a pencil tip sized hole on either the face or the subpanel. barring that you can try disconnecting power to the radio for a few minutes.

Hello

Hi,

Pls verify your wiring. The Pioneer DEH-P4100 uses the below speaker wiring.
f2dc9bc.jpg
whereas a typical 2000 Ford Mustang that does uses an external amplifier would be using the below wiring scheme in its two (2) connectors.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

Malfunction

Check none of the buttons are stuck in. Try pressing the reset button. I think it is bottom right and recessed in a hole. The unit should be on and you'll need something pointy like a pen or toothpick. If you cant find the reset button, disconnect the car battery for a minute or two. If that doen't work, then it will probably need repair.
