Cannot startup my laptop

I was trying to laod trust cam onto my laptop when i kept running into problems, then tryrd to do a system restore when i lost windows all together tryed to do a startup repair many times without any sucess. we did not get any dices with the laptop when we got it.... please help

I think the windows has gone bad and you need to do reset your laptop to factory settings. Any additional info do tell me

Have you tried doing a system restore. Start --> Run -->restore Then double click on rstrui and walk through menu system and select a restore point before the problems started or maybe even the first restore that way you should be sure to find the driver again.

I have a dell laptop inspiron 1525. i can turn it on, and sign in to my user area, but it freezes within a minute. pressing f8 whilst turning the laptop on and clicking "startup repair" proves...


First go safe mode by pressing F8 key when your computer start.
Then windows run in safe mode click run and type msconfig then enter a winodws apear to show some lists choose startup items and disable all startup iteams and reboot it and now check it is working ok or not ?
after scan your computer for virus .

I would reinstall your operating system fresh after doing a full format, remember to back up your hard drive. I have never had satisfactory results from any virus scanner or system restore.

Sounds like a device driver conflick before you try to restore reboot the laptop and at startup press F8 at the menu click onsafe with networking so that if you need to download drivers yo can " Right click on my computer clik on manage look in event viewer and see when errors started to happen if the was a software update at the time of the error uninstall it and reboot the computer. if not you may have to restore the system to and earlyier date and loose data Good luck

Try booting into safemode, press F8 during bootup. Then you can try either using a System Restore from windows or you can try to finish uninstalling mcafee and / or Norton. You should definately give AVG Free edition a shot. It's awesome and better yet, FREE!!!!

My media player is skipping on my Dell D600. It just started doing it


Try one of these solutions... should help you fix the problem.
1. System Restore (How to do? - Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System restore) .. Select a date when your media player used to work and restore the system.
2. Clear startup. (How to do? - Start > Run > Type in 'msconfig' > click ok to open the application, select the 'startup tab' and click on disable all, will stop startup apps... system will get a little fastser too)

Startup screen freezes


using the system restore disk, boot the laptop and choose repair, run chkdisk /r this repairs the system files, if this does not fix the problem, using the same system disk do a restore.

SONY VAIO notebook freezes on xp splash screen every 2-4 mos.


first, ensure your system restore is turned on and make a restore point right now!...assuming you have run a thorough disk check and de-frag. then, trust the system restore. I have used it with success 100% of the 20 or so times I have used it. Next, start using the "Hibernate" power down mode. I have found this to work wonders with third-party driver problems. It seems that once a good startup happens, then freeze it (and continue to get a good startup) with hibernate from then on. Last, check about every month for the quantity of restore points that have taken place automatically by Windows. Sometimes, depending on the size of the hard drive, too many points can begin to encroach on your free space that you want for virtual memory or data. So for example, I see 15 restore points in the last month, I will dlete them all by cancelling system restore. Then I use "clean disk" scandisk and defrag. Then I turn restore back on.
