SOURCE: defrost timer board for mzd2766geq

Defrost control board is in the top of the refrigerator behind the two levers that control the temperature. You have to take off the plastic cover. There are two screws and then you slide to cover to the side to remove. The board is in a white plastic housing.

SOURCE: Defrost timer sticking

Your model doesn't have a defrost timer. Everything is controlled by the main motherboard in the back. The ONLY way to get an acurate diagnosis is to call GE FActory Service at 1-800-432-2737. There is proprietary software and the tech will be able to plug in a laptop to your refer to find out what is going on. No other companies have this or have access to this software. By the way that deforst thermostat you think you found isn't what you think it is. It looks like one but it only a saftey device. Trust me...!

Take a screw driver and turn it clock wise several times , this will often free then up, they will sometimes stick befor they go bad. give this a try. All so a manual wouldent tell you where it is. But sometimes a nice repair man will tell you for free. Try this. Good luck DFD

SOURCE: I need to know where to find the defrost timer on

I just replace my defrost timer & defrost thermostat. The timer is in the front bottom. Remove the kick plate at the bottom & you should see an orange knob. It takes about 10 min to replace. The thermostat is located in the freezer section. Remove the lower panel. This will expose the cooling coils and the defrost thermostat. Takes about an hour to replace.

I can't find the wiring diagram for my whirlpool refridgerator.... MOD.#ET19RKXFN01 SER.#EG3222178. Can you please help. I need to change the defrost timer.....Thanks

I will try to locate a wiring diagram for your model ET19RKXFN01 but to change the defrost timer you will only need to know its location. Here is a link to the repair parts=> ET19RKXFN01_Repair_Parts_List
Go to page 5 of the repair parts list and you will see item number 4 Then on page 6 of the parts list you will see the timer part number beside the item 4. That is your defrost timer part number 2193084 Defrost Timer

Your refrigerator is an older model and may have the wiring digram in a packet behind the kick plate in the front near floor. Changing the defrost timer will not require use of a wiring diagram. Simply remove the old timer and replace the new defrost timer by plugging it into the wiring harness. The defrost timer can be found behind the control panel inside the fresh food compartment where the controls are located above the top shelf. If you have questions just let me know, Thanks Sea Breeze

My Hotpoint CSX203A side by side refrigerator is warm on refrigerator side, but freezer side is fine.

Let's begin by looking for the defrost timer in photo here=> CSX20BABCWH Fresh Food Section Controls The part number is=> WR9X489 Sounds like you are not getting defrost and this is the most likely reason. Turn the defrost timer clockwise slowly until compressor and fans stop. Allow to remain like this up to 30 minutes and open freezer door and then listen for sizzling or crackle noise. This will indicate the fridge is in defrost. If the timer does not restart the compressor after this time simply turn again slowly clockwise until it starts. If this works the timer needs replaced. You have two other parts the defrost heater and defrost thermostat to check if the above does not work. Then click here=> .CSX20BABCWH Freezer Section Components See the part location 230 is your=> WR51X442 Glass Tube Heater Then finally the defrost thermostat is part location 240 and part number=> WR50X122 Defrost Thermostat
Try the timer first and let me know how that comes out and I will go through replacing the defrost Heater and defrost thermostat once I know how the fist test works. If helpful please rat if not then please tell me what I can answer from here, Thank You Sea Breeze

I don't have an owners manual and want to know where I should set the freezer to avoid unnecessary ice build-up. Also is there a setting for defrost?

Click Here for your user manual=> MQU1556AEW.pdf The settings for defrost should come automatically every 12 hours. You may test the defrost timer that appears to be behind the kick plate at base and front bottom of refrigerator by removing the kick plate first and using a flathead screwdriver turn slowly clockwise until compressor stops. After a few minutes you should be able to hear a crackling noise or sizzle by opening the door and listening. Leave the timer like that for up to 35 minutes and if the freezer does not start on its own the the timer is not working properly and will need replaced. Click Here=> MQU1556AEW Unit parts number 15 in photo is defrost timer. The defrost timer is part number=> 4357124 Defrost Timer Check for air leaks around door seal as this will cause the same symptoms. If by chance the defrost timer works and the defrost does not then let me know here or here=> Appliance 911 The only other parts are the defrost heater number 16 in photo MQU1556AEW Unit Parts and part number for defrost heater is Click Here=> 8201749 If you change the defrost heater it is always good to replace the defrost thermostat number 18 in MQU1556AEW Unit Parts The defrost thermostat is part number=> 1-81801-001 The most likely problem is the defrost timer but I needed to cover every possibility. If you have questions please feel free to ask, Thanks, Sea Breeze

Freezer section is iceing up

There are 3 things that will cause a defrost free refrigerator to do this, the defrost timer, the defrost heater, or the defrost termination sensor. I would start with the timer. You will need to look the cabinet over closely. Look inside by the cold control, you are looking for a hole with a plastic screw that can only be turned one way with a flat blade screw driver, if not there look in the back, once found turn it till the compressor shuts down, if you find the drip tray full of water, you know the other two items are good, and replace the defrost timer

2001 top freezer won't defrost

Hi, You will need to check three different parts of the defrost cycle. The most common problem is the bi-metal switch. UNPLUG the refrigerator and remove the rear inside freezer panel and locate the bi-metal switch attached to the evaporator coil in the upper corner. You will need a voltage/ohms meter for this test. Check the switch to see if it has continuity. Note: This switch has to be cold in order to test it! If it tests open circuit, you will need to change the bi-metal switch. If the bi-metal switch tests ok, then test the defrost heater the same as you tested the bi-metal switch.
IIf both of these parts test ok, you will need to change the defrost timer.
Please get em a model # and I can assist you on locating the timer.
I hope this helps you. Please let me know if I can assist you further.

Hotpoint fridge model CSx20KATA AD defrost timer

Hi, This model does not have a defrost timer. It actually has a motherboard. If you have a defrost problem, the nore common part to check first is the defrost heater or termination switch ( bi-metal). These two parts are located inside the freezer compartment behind the rear panel where the frost is building up.
These two parts must have continuity. If one or noth of them have no continuity, they need replaced. Please use a hair dryer (NOT a sharp object the remove the frost from the evaporator coils.
If you need any more help or need to order the part, I can help you and we can order the parts off my web site
Let me know if I can help.

Defrost not cycling

Hi. the Defrost timer assembly has failed. simply replacing this timer will fix the defrosting issue.

Concerning the refrigerators cold control. this is caused by a malfunctioning Temperature control assembly. simply replacing this device will fix the erratic cold control.

Now, i would inspect the compressor for its operational value before purchasing a temperature control assembly. If the compressor isn't cycling on and off and if it is making a very loud noise or pinging, this will confirm compressor failure. you will have to replace the compressor in this case.

If the compressor is coming on in a cycle and powering off without any abnormal noises, this will confirm temperature control failure. replace the temp control assembly in this case.

I will post the parts need below so that you may order the affected parts on line if you choose.

Temperature control assembly.
Defrost timer module.

Please rate and god bless:)

Wheel bearing

You may have a problem; researching Daewoo results in landing on the home page for Holden motors which may have acquired Daewoo but searching their website doesn't seem fruitful either;

You may have to have parts sent to NZ for your car through an independent dealer or chain such as Repco.  I checked their site but got no results on anything Daewoo although they may special order it for you if you have one local to you.
