This same thing happened to me. I was playing fantastic contraption and my ipod screen just went black and wouldnt turn back on. When I plugged it in to a charger, it made that charging noise, but wouldnt turn on. SOLUTION: try holding in the sleep/wake(power) button, and the home button at the same time for about 15 seconds or until you see the white apple logo. That worked for me, hope you get it fixed.
I fixed mine! I removed the four screws on the back with an eyeglasses repair kit and then took out the battery and waited a few seconds then put it back in and now it turns on and i didnt lose any songs or anything!
Try this, I bet it might work. And the battery is the big white thing that looks like, well, a battery. its really obvious.
i have the exact same problem.. but i took mine apart and broke it
more... lol. it turned on, but only pearl came up and wouldnt load. the
only thing that couldve made it happen was the battery died and it shut
down, so i turned it back on and it started playing and died again but
didnt shut down.. when i put a new batterie in it to turn it on, thats
my sansa froze up and wouldnt turn off or on and i had to wait for the battery to die and wen i turned it back on it was the same thing again...so i took it in and they replaced it but that was 2weeks ago and now its not working at all...wont turn on nothing...i worked just fine i turned it off plugged it into my comp for an hr wen to turn it on and now its dead....
im begininn to think these are a waste of money and time...
If you have a liiittle experience with a screwdriver, try opening it. you may find cableties that are loose... just try very gently to get them back to thei positions and it will work fine.
if this won't do just mail me.
