The two switches you are having problems with are thermetically controlled; they can easily short out which will cause the light to stay on. First what I'd like you to do is disconnect them at the sending unit, if the lights still stay on you have a short somewhere deeper in the wiring. Most likely it will be a grounded wire. If the lights do go off you will then want to use an OHM meter to check continuity at the senders. If you get solid resistance then the sending unit is shorted out, if one remains open then isolate the other. You may have a situation that one switch is causing both to stay lit.
Let me know if this helps you out at all. Tell me if you don't have the resources to co the diagnostics as described and I'll be happy to give you a work around. We will just have to be a little creative.
Either way let me know and I'll be happy to help you resolve the issue. I'm inclined to thing your problem is a short not a heat related issue since both sending units are both indicating a problem.

SOURCE: wont start

tip a cap full of fuel in top of the carb to start intitially, check for spark as common fault is on/off switch, If no spark, link the 2 wires on on/off switch together.

Pulley is stuck how do you resolve problem?

Pulley ? What pulley?
If you mean the recoil starter pull cord is stuck it might be a simple fix. Did your machine tip over on its side?
If it did oil often flows into the cylinder. Just remove the spark plug. The recoil cord should pull easily and oil will spurt out the spark plug opening. Pull until oil stops coming out. Check your oil level. Replace your spark plug and see if she starts.

1992 celica wont start and now battery is dead

Engine starting depend on the following systems:
1. Fuel system (fuel level, fuel filter, fuel pump pressure etc).
2. Ignition system.(Ignition fuse, spark plugs, spark plug cords, distributor signal, ignition coil, and ignition switch)
3. Battery. (11.4 V - 14 V)
4. Cylinder compression. (145 psi - 190 psi, valve clearance)
5. Starter rpm (250 rpm)

Pressure washer hard to pull string

Unless your unit is equipped with an easy start feature...and I think these are not, it is not usual to have to pull the trigger on the water gun to start one of these units. Also...if there is any chance that the washer has tipped over, there is a possibility that oil has gotten into the engine cylinder. Oil will not compress and the rope cannot be all. Remove the spark plug and step back away from the exposed hole. Pull the recoil handle and watch for spraying oil from the spark plug hole. Pull a few more times, clean up the plug and the unit may start. If not, you may have to remove the carb bowl and drain more oil. Check your oil fill level. If your gas level is suddenly low you may have gas in the oil crankcase and need to change your oil. When the washer starts it may blow smoke for some time before it clears up.

The motor wont start

This could be a few different things. 1. Check oil level, if your machine is equipped with a low oil sensor the engine will not start if oil is low. 2. Check the spark plug, remove it and place it against something metal and crank the engine over while looking at the spark plug to see if you have spark. Don't hold the plug because you will get a shock. 3. Check the carburetor, remove and clean. Check the air filter, make sure its clean. If these steps don't work let me know.

No plug fire

This may not be the only solution but... the engine has a low oil pressure sensor that when the oil is low grounds the spark. Make sure the engine is completely serviced with oil. Once your sure the oil level is full attempt a spark check.

If you still do not have spark start looking at the black wire from the throttle control and check to see there are no bare / exposed parts on the wire that are touching the engine some where.

If all of that looks fine then disconnect ONE lead from the low oil level sensor and check spark again.

If you still do not have spark then most likely the problem can be either the igniton module or inside the air shroud a ground on the ignition coil or..... a failed coil.

Also make sure that the plug wire is not chaffed where it passes through the air shroud.

Thanks for using FixYa,
