Tips & Warnings
  • Do not set the date or time between 8 p.m. and 3 a.m. to avoid damage to your Geneva watch. The gears sit too close together during these times.
  • If your Geneva watch becomes wet, wipe it dry as soon as possible. Keep your watch away from saunas and hot tubs, as the extreme heat diminishes the watch's water resistance.

Geneva watches do not have an indention or tab. If they did, it would be a piece of cake to pop them open and change the battery.

How do i set my Geneva Japan Movt 257 Watch?

You pop the 'crown' out (dial) then turn it till correct time, then push it back in. It's on E-how, depending on the type of watch, or how many dials it has, the directions may change.

Setting time/Date

I couldn't find any setting instructions on their web site so I suggest one of two options:-

1) that you go to their site (ripcurl.com) click on their opening page to go to page 2. At the bottom of the page is a store locator. This should find the nearest stockist of your watch, they should be able to help.

2) If there isn't a stockist near you, try any watch shop. Watches tend to be similar in operation (especially if it is a relatively simple one) and they may be able to help.

Watch has correct day and date only 1/2 each day

The watch thinks at Noon it is really midnite, so you must scroll 12 hours ahead to repair this. There are usually 2 "clicks" on the stem of the watch when you pull it out, 1 will set time, 1 will set the day/date, be careful to pay close attention to which is happening when you pull out the stem, and setting should go well after that.
