Download the manual and it will tell you where things go.  Copy the picture from the book and save elsewhere with a name.  Open the file and enlarge it on the screen.

We are trying to install our old WD2500 into our new computer. When we start the computer it won't move past the "starting Windows" screen. We think we need to change some jumper settings but...

In printed circuit board you see "CS" "master" "Slave"
I recommend place the jumper in "master"
Use an individual cable to connect HDD, (One cable for each HDD)

Don`t connect DVD or other Hard disk HDD
Turn on the PC
Enter to setup and check if show the HDD as master

If the PC can enter to Windows
Turn off, reconnect DVD and restart

First read articles on "ESD".

Look for any warnings or post messages during boot sequence

1. Verify the RAM are the correct modules for your computer.
2. If the RAM is correct then remove 1 stick of RAM
3. Check the jumper settings on the HDD to verify Master, Slave, or Cable Select.
4. Remove the hard drive and verify the system will post.
5. Reinstall the HDD and boot to Bios and verify all devces are detected.
6. You might reset the Bios with the J2,3 to the J1,2 jumper.on the mother board.

Troublshooting is a process of elimination. Start barebones and work your way up!

Failed to unlock HDD System Locked

What you need to do is unplug pc, open up the door panel to your pc and remomo cell battery from mother board then find the jump pins on the mother board they look just like the one in back of the hard drive. The jump pins are connected with a jumper similar to the pins jumper that sets up your hard drive to master, cable select, or slave. You need to reset the mother board the way you do that is by removing that pin jumper and replacing the cell baterry then the pin jumper. If done correctly you will reset your motherboard password setting and bios allowing you to boot your operating system. If you need help google your pc manufacture and model number and search mother board jump pins. Or email me with your pc info to andreioneluv@yahoo.com , and I will try to help you find it. Controller MSI K8N Neo4 does not work

SHUT DOWN COMPUTER AND CLEAR CMOS BY RESETTING JUMPER ON MOTHERBOARD AND THEN RETURN JUMPER TO NORMAL POSITION OR USE RESET BUTTON. UNPLUG ALL HDD SATA CONNECTORS FROM HDD. BOOT COMPUTER TO BIOS. MAKE SURE ENABLE ALL SATA IS ENABLED, PRESS F10 AND EXIT.YOU WANT TO SHUT DOWN AGAIN. NOW REATTACH SATA HDD AND CONNECTORS AND BOOT TO BIOS AGAIN. NOW HIT F10 AND LET COMPUTER RESTART AND LOAD INTO THE OS. LOGON AND CHECK DEVICE MANAGER..SHOULD BE THERE. IF NOT CHECK MOTHER BOARD WEB SITE FOR BIOS UPDATE. IF BIOS UPDATE DOESN'T DO THE TRICK, SHUT DOWN AND DISCONNECT THE IDE DRIVE, UNLESS IT CONTAINS YOUR OS. TRY BOOTING TO BIOS AND CHANGE ORDER OF 1ST BOOT OPTIONS, HIT F10 AND EXIT AND ALLOW COMPUTER TO BOOT TO OS, THEN LOGON, GO TO DEVICE MANAGER AND REMOVE IDE AND RESTART, ONLY IF THIS HDD DOES NOT CONTAIN OS. YOU SHOULD BE FINE AFTER THIS, OR INSTALL YOUR OS ON THE SATA HDD.

I took out my old hdd, and put a new one in with double the GBs.....but now when I turn on my PC, all I get is a blank screen? Won't let me load the OS....

First set your harddisk as master which has operating system.
And set slave as your new added hdd.
You can ser master and slave with jumper settings.
Read diagram on HDD.
Then check .
Also check in bios that your first boot device is your hdd which has os.
Let me know if you need more assistanse.
Thanks.

A8n32-SLi Deluxe - Will not boot

your bios can be reset to defaults by removing the CMOS battery, then moving the little blue jumper to the right of it from the 1-2 pins to the 2-3 pins fpr 10 seconds, then place it back onto the 1-2 pins, replace the battery and boot as usual.

Mother board driver issues

Don't panic. If you take the cover off the side of the computer and look at the motherboard you will find a jumper that says cmos. You can switch the jumper and wait a minute or so then switch it back and it will boot up its defaults. If you cant find the jumper just take the battery out of the motherboard and wait a couple minutes and then put it back in. that will do the same thing and it should boot up fine.
