I had the same problem of No spark some while back, it went back to the service depot and cost over £60.00 for a new spark pack, now its done exactly the same thing once again, in less than a year, do you know where I can get a new spark pack from, this time I will do the job myself now that its stripped down already, I think last time it only cost about £20.00 and the rest was labour!!!!!, but of course they were able to source the correct part. its a PCN4545 45cc 18inch Petrol Chainsaw

If you want to check for a loose wire on the on/off switch or a problem with the spark plug wire contact on the plug, but personally if this tool is new I would return it and get a new tool without having to fix this one. Also I would try another spark plug before considering taking back. Sometimes plugs go bad

Briggs 402707 16.5hp hard to start now -last 10yrs ok to start but always seemed to run on one cyl until hot. cleaned spark plugs , ran for 8 mins spark plug on running cyl was hvy sooted other was clean....

The difference between cylinders allowable is 10% so the compression difference does not indicate a valve problem. Indications are that one piston is not getting fuel or one is flooding so unless there is a blockage in the manifold to one cylinder fuel can be ruled out as a problem. Heavy sooting can be from oil passing the oil ring and getting to the combustion chamber. This will not be picked up by the compression test.. The clean plug may not be firing so check plug lead for continuity and the cap for cracks and moisture. Misfiring until it gets hot may be moisture in the cap that is drying out under heat.

What's your problem?I've got a k650 partner saw that was starting and running great, really great. It ran out of fuel, we filled it, it ran for another 5 min and then died out. It didn&

You need to check it is mechanicaly sound, a compression test will give you a good idea, anything under 110 psi and you have a problem with either piston/ring wear, or it has seized.

My girl friends 2002 Galiant was running bad (skipping, shaking) so we had our mechanic to look at it and he said that it was running off only 2 cyl. He took out one of the spark plugs and this black...

Yes, I've heard of stripped plug holes, almost always they can be repaired with special inserts or something called a helicoil. It sounds like he damaged the head when he tried to repair it and now nobody wants to try again. I would look around again for another head or even a complete engine. These engines were very common, any scrap yard should be able to find either or and I don't believe his story that all the heads he's found are bad. I'm a mechanic and I hate to poop on another guy but he sounds shady. New heads are really expensive. What is the engine size?

Wont Start - No Spark

Older VW's and Audi's are notarious for this type of behavior. You actaully need a Vag or good diagnostic tester to tell you which plugs are mis-firing. You will need to replace a coil-pac or two. VW's issued a recall notice about 3 months ago about this issue and intends to re-imburse owners on certain models and years for coil-pac repalcement. After market coil-pacs should cost less than $50.00 each. Hope this helps.

Engine wont start. remove spark plug re attached cable to spark plug, ran engine saw no spark at spark plug.

I'm sorry for asking more questions, but doe this engine have points for ignition?? Look for cracks in the wire that may allow spark to jump to ground before reaching the spark plug. Also make sure the kill switch is not activated wile attemping to start the engine. I realize this may be knowledge already known, but I have to start with the basics before proceeding.
