Remove and Install Cartridges Be sure you have your replacement . Caution: Remove the CD/DVD tray and return the output tray to the paper position before replacing ink cartridges. 1. Turn on the Epson Stylus Photo RX680 Series. If a cartridge is low or expended, you see a message on the Epson Stylus Photo RX680 Series display screen. If a cartridge is expended, you must replace it to be able to print. If a cartridge is low, you can continue printing until the cartridge needs replacement. If you?re replacing a cartridge before you see a message on the Epson Stylus Photo RX680 Series display screen, press Setup, select Maintenance, and press OK. Then select Change Ink Cartridge and press OK. 2. Open the scanner. 3. Open the cartridge cover. 4. Squeeze the tab on the cartridge and lift the cartridge straight up to remove it. Dispose of it carefully. Do not take the used cartridge apart or try to refill it. Warning: If ink gets on your hands, wash them thoroughly with soap and water. If ink gets into your eyes, flush them immediately with water. Keep ink cartridges out of the reach of children. 5. Remove the cartridge from the package, but be careful not to touch the green chip on the cartridge. 6. Remove the yellow tape from the bottom of the cartridge. Caution: Do not remove any other labels or seals, or ink will leak. 7. Insert the new cartridge into the holder and push it down until it clicks into place. 8. Once you replace all the necessary cartridges, close the cartridge cover and push it down until it clicks into place. 9. Close the scanner. 10. Press OK to begin charging the ink. This takes about 1 1/2 minutes. When you see a completion message on the display screen, ink charging is finished. Caution: Never turn off the Epson Stylus Photo RX680 Series while ink is charging or you?ll waste ink. If you see an ink replacement message on the display screen, press OK and press down all the cartridges securely.

Step1 Purchase an ink cartridge made specifically for your printer. Step2 Turn on your printer and raise the lid or press the cartridge changing button. Step3 Wait for the cartridge carrier to slide out. Step4 Put your finger behind the ridge on the top front of the old cartridge and pull it toward you to remove. If you have an Epson printer, lift the cartridge holder lid, and the cartridge will pop up for removal. Step5 Carefully remove the tape from the ink opening on the bottom of new cartridge. Step6 Insert the new cartridge into the cartridge carrier. Make sure the new cartridge is oriented the same way that the old cartridge had been. Step7 Feel and hear the cartridge click into position. On some models, arrows will indicate the cartridge is correctly positioned. Step8 If you have an Epson printer, close the cartridge holder lid and press the cleaning button to charge the cartridge. Step9 Close printer cover.

While cartridge installation varies somewhat between brands and models, these general instructions apply to most major brands.

I have an Epson RX680 the black and yellow ink are not printing after trying several print head cleanings and even replacing the cartridges (even though they were better then half full)

Inkjet printers need to be used frequently to prevent ink drying out and blocking the print head nozzles.
If the print head cleaning maintenance routine does not clear the blockages, then print head needs replacing, but it may be expensive.
It may be more cost effective to buy a later model and better printer than replace the print head.

Service need for epson rx680 wht to do?

Hi,

You have a couple of options...

The first is to take or send the printer off to be serviced by an official Epson Service technician.

The second is to fit an external waste ink kit and reset the waste ink counter on your printer.

Some folks suggest you just reset the waste ink counter and forget about it but that's never a good idea as the waste pads in the printer will eventually flood.

You can read more general information about what a "Service Required" means on wasteink.co.uk and there are also instructions for fitting a waste ink kit are available

The latter is a commercial site (my own) but the information is just as relevant for any kit.

Hopefully it's useful...

EPSON 680 DOES NOT RECEGONIZE THE INK CARTRIDGES. EPSON CARTRIDGES. I NEED A SERVICE MANUAL

Forgive me for asking this, but roughly speaking about 80 to 95% of problems involving ink or toner are resolved by the following:
Are you using an Epson factory new ink cartridge supplied by the manufacturer of the printer?
If you are using a refilled or third party cartridge that may well be your problem. Most manufacturers build logic into their products to prevent the use of “Other Equipment Manufactured” cartridges as well as re-filled cartridges.
They do this to prevent problems from contaminated inks causing problems with print quality or damaging the physical printhead.
If you are using factory new cartridges, then call for technical support. Ink cartridges carry a warranty with them.

Won't reconize new ink cartridge rx680 printer

hi friend,
Run the Head Cleaning utility to clear any clogged ink nozzles. To run the Head Cleaning Utility, follow the instructions below.

For Windows users:

1) Make sure that your printer is ON and the error light is off.

2) Access the printer software.

3) Click the Utility tab, then click the Head Cleaning button.

4) Follow the on-screen instructions

5) When the power light stops flashing, click Print nozzle check pattern in the Head Cleaning dialog box to confirm that the head is clean and to reset the cleaning cycle

If you find that any segments are missing from the nozzle check pattern, you may need to repeat the head cleaning and print the pattern again.

Or u could consult the user manual
u should let the ink settle for 12-24 hrs???
hope this helps u
please rate me..........................
thank u for using fixya
regards

Rx680 epson ink cartridge error

I was changing my cyan cartridge and got this error. I thought for sure it was that cartridge. Tried a few things including pulling them all out and putting them all back in. Didn't work.

Finally, I found a place in the software that showed the info on all the cartridges. Turned out the light cyan was not reading. Took it out and rubbed the contacts with a pencil eraser. Voila! Problem solved.

Call Epson again and complain. This is a known defect on new machines shipped. I had the same problem and they sent me a new printer under warranty (same model) without any issues. The new one works perfectly.
