Question about IBM Lenovo ThinkPad T61 Notebook

My lenovo t61 screen is cloudy white

My Lenovo t61 will boot up but the screen is a solid cloudy white. I can attach a separate monitor and boot up just fine, and use the laptop. Is this problem a hardware or software issue and if so which one, and can it be fixed? Or am I into a new LCD?

Install the TCP/IP (Internet protocol)

Then reboot the computer.
You network should now work.

Check if the system is overheating.

You can try to clean the cooling vents using a can of compressed air or a vacuum cleaner (make sure to turn off the system and disconnect battery and charger before you try this).

If the processor heatsink/fan assembly is clogged with dusts, it can cause this problem.

You need to make sure that the processor heatsink/ fan assembly is clean of any dusts.

The following link will give some idea about how to clean the heat sink

(it is for a different make/ model, but the principles will be same.)

Yes, it's highly-likely that all your "data" files on the disk-drive are intact. Any qualified computer-technician can remove the disk-drive, temporarily connect it as a "slave" drive in a computer, and copy all your files onto DVD-writable disk(s).

Lenovo t510 white screen on power up

if you have access to an external screen, attach it via the VGA port and restart the PC, if it comes up then you have a faulty inverter. Carry the machine to a recognized tech to replace inverter. Worse case scenario, you may have a faulty board.

White line on LCD on lenovo t61

Is it there before it gets into windows? If so then it's the screen. You can probably find a replacement on ebay. If not then it's probably the video card. In this case you'll have to replace the motherboard.

How do I brighten the monitor on my lenovo T61?

I believe the T61 is like my T60.
The "Home" and "End" keys will act to brighten or dim the screen when you hit them as you hold down the "Ctrl" key.

Blank screen on Thinkpad Lenovo T61, when I connect a monitor and reboot it shows scramble.. help

Your video card adapter might be damage. Or you have installed a wrong driver for your laptop.

Another cause of the problem is your RAM or memory might be damage. I suggest you buy a new memory to test it.

Thanks. Cheers!
