I would love to be able to keep this radio cb 25 ltd its about 20 years old that I no of. It was gave to me by a family member and I don't no how long he had it for, but I had took it out of my truck and it was in the house for about one year. Then a tried to hook it back up and just the lights come on I no the mic is bad but I'll buy a new no of it. The cb has dynomic, rf gain and you can adjust some things from the in side of it. Its one of the best cobra cb's made. I just need someone that is trustworthy and can fix it.

Need more info? did you have the rf gain knob turned all the way to the right for maximum receive? If the mic is bad it could be that the receive wire is broke inside the mic wich would not allow it to either recieve or transmitt or both. Also check the (swr) on the enteana your running a 1.5 or lower swr is good anything higher than a 3 could damage the finals. Tell me a little more about it. I have alot of knoladge about this radio got 1 sitting right here i just sooped up for a buddy.

It's funny you bring this up I just repaired my 25 that I've had since 93 last night over the same thing.Mine turned out to be the speaker inside the radio the coil went bad. Also I just noticed you say you have a mic problem if you don't have a mic plugged in you won't get any sound unless you ground out I think it's pin 3.Anyway I'm sure that it's nothing serious those are very tough radios I've done alot of experimenting with mine and it's still one of the loudest radios out there,I use mine mostly for hash and trash I have alot of other radios but thats just my little kick *** workhorse.Feel free to email me with anymore questins on that radio at dand1009@hotmail.com.Good Luck

I have a cobra25LTD that picks up real bad static only when i get near other semi trks and power lines never had this problem before how can I fix

unless you know anything about repairing radios you should take it to a CB shop and ask them to check out the receive filter and if its bad change it . If you are using a cigarette lighter plug it will pick up static and other round noises also.Change the plug and hard wire it,see if the noise goes away. ground your antenna better.Does your radio have delta tune? if so make sure its in the 12 o'clock position.Try everything you can from the outside of the radio .If it is still there then take it to a tech.

Static in my cobra ultra 3.

The easiest way to check this is to hook an SWR meter to the antenna to see if the cables are ok. If the SWR is low then it would show no problems in the transmit and therefore the receive would be good.

first make sure its on cb not pa. next make sure the squelch is all the to the left. now make sure your volume is open enough not to blast. If you can hear anything you are good if not you need to take it to a tech.

I have a Cobra 25 LTD Classic from 1992. It's been sitting in a box for over 10 years. I recently tried to power it up but got no power, looked inside and discovered a broken diode but don't know how to...

If you can look on the broken diode, it should have a number on it, you can get it at any electronic supplier, but when you remove the old one with a desoldering iron, take note of which way the grey band is pointing, and install it the same way.hope this helps...

12 volts, around 15 amps. For a base station, try an Antron-99 groundplane antenna.
