Question about Saeco Vienna Digital Coffee Maker, Espresso Machine

Saeco Digital Does Not recognize water in tank

With display showing fill tank, refilling the tank does not allow machine to pump watter nor heat water. Unit believes there is no water in system. Forcing water through the pump does not alleviate the signal. Is this a sensor problem or a blocked 'duct'? Any experience with this . dealer has not yet opened the unit and provides no clues. I'm looking for s simple fix. Unit is past warranty and I am not afraid of doing repairs my self

Thanks for the suggestion, but the magnet is already floating and the reed switch does not seem to operate. I am beginning to think the sensor itself is faulty or somewhere further down the circuitry there is problem.
I would need a circuit diagram to diagnose properly.

Replace the water tank float!!or glue the faulty float in the uper postion so as to activate the reid switch, but this will not let you know when you are out of water.

I was unable to find a replacement float so
I took a to go box and cut a wedge to keep the float in place towards the front of the machine.
    Success.

Descaling Single Boiler Home espresso machines (HOME SINGLE BOILER ESPRESSO MACHINES)

Approximately every 3 months (depending on your use and the water hardness), clean the machine with natural citric acid based decalcifying agent.
1. Add a descaling solution into the water reservoir. Mix thoroughly to dissolve (use warm water for better results).
2. Remove the filter holder and place a cup under the group head and another cup, or other container, under the steam wand to catch cleaning solution.
3. Turn espresso machine on, turn coffee pump on and run approximately 8 oz. of solution through the brew head. Turn machine off and let the machine sit for 15 minutes.
4.Run approximately 8 oz. through the steam wand, and again, turn machine off and let sit for 15 minutes.
Repeat by allowing solution to run alternately through the steam wand and brew head. Turn espresso machine off after each cycle. Repeat process until solution has been run through.
5. Do not leave espresso machine on. Do not wait for the ready light to come on. Do not use the steam switch during this process. Do not allow reservoir to run empty!
6. Rinse reservoir thoroughly with fresh water. Refill reservoir with fresh water. Run half a tank of fresh water through group head, alternating between group head and steam wand.

How can I descale my Saeco Vienna without beans in the hopper?

Hi
Never run descaling solution through the brew unit. You should never descale the machine hot either.
1. To decalcify your boiler, remove your water tank and fill it with hot water (100 to 120 degrees). Open a pack of decalcifier and mix into the water tank. Place the tank back on the machine, then turn the machine on.
2. Open the steam knob and run approximately eight ounces of solution into a spare container. Turn the machine off and let set about 10 to 15 minutes. It is very important that the machine does not remain on to heat the boiler anymore than necessary.
3. Repeat step #2 for your type of machine. Do this until you have consumed the entire water tank of solution (approximately four to five cycles) .
4. Remove water tank and rinse it with fresh water.
5. Refill the water tank with fresh water and place it back on the machine.
6. Repeat step #2 to rinse the machine, only this time use the entire water tank at one time, and there is not need to let it set. Done, refill your tank and run some water, and you are ready to go.

I purchased this machine only 2 days ago and it permanently displays the 'fill watertank' message. I've tried filling and refilling the tank and turning the unit off...some advice would be very helpful1

Hi there,
In the water tank there is a float with magnet inside. When water is filled it should rise up to indicate the machine has water. If it is not floating up ,try putting some foam underneath to raise up.It should help.

Remember, it is better to descale more often than not enough.
1. To decalcify your boiler, remove your water tank and fill it with hot water (100 to 120 degrees). Open a pack of decalcifier and mix into the water tank. Once it is dissolved, place the tank back on the machine, and then turn the machine on.
2. Open the steam knob and run approximately eight ounces of solution into a spare container. Turn the machine off and let set about 10 to 15 minutes. Longer is better. It is very important that the machine does not remain on to heat the boiler anymore than necessary.
3. Repeat step #2 for your machine. Do this until you have consumed the entire water tank of solution (approximately four to five cycles). (I do it at night before I go to bed and let the last cycle set in the boiler till morning.)
4. Remove water tank and rinse it with fresh water. Now open the knob and run the whole tank at one time to rinse.
5. Refill water tank with fresh water and place it back on the machine.

I have a Saeco Armonia Espresso Machine. The water pump was running when the tank ran out of water and when I refilled the tank, it wouldn't start again. I unpugged it and turned everything off overnight....

Common on Armonia...
There is no water in the system, so the pump is pumping air!!
you have to push on the usual button but make sure the hot water button (for tea for ex) on the right side (same as steam opening valve) of the machine is open. This will allow the water to re-flow through the system. Once water is coming out again, close hose, and stop water button. Once hose is closed, and you repush the water button, it will flow again through the coffee hole.
Voila
