With display showing fill tank, refilling the tank does not allow machine to pump watter nor heat water. Unit believes there is no water in system. Forcing water through the pump does not alleviate the signal.
Is this a sensor problem or a blocked 'duct'?
Any experience with this .
dealer has not yet opened the unit and provides no clues.

Approximately every 3 months (depending on your use and the water hardness), clean the machine with natural citric acid based decalcifying agent. 1. Add a descaling solution into the water reservoir. Mix thoroughly to dissolve (use warm water for better results). 2. Remove the filter holder and place a cup under the group head and another cup, or other container, under the steam wand to catch cleaning solution. 3. Turn espresso machine on, turn coffee pump on and run approximately 8 oz. of solution through the brew head. Turn machine off and let the machine sit for 15 minutes. 4.Run approximately 8 oz. through the steam wand, and again, turn machine off and let sit for 15 minutes. Repeat by allowing solution to run alternately through the steam wand and brew head. Turn espresso machine off after each cycle. Repeat process until solution has been run through. 5. Do not leave espresso machine on. Do not wait for the ready light to come on. Do not use the steam switch during this process. Do not allow reservoir to run empty! 6. Rinse reservoir thoroughly with fresh water. Refill reservoir with fresh water. Run half a tank of fresh water through group head, alternating between group head and steam wand.
The Digital Italia is programmed to descale the boilers on its own. With the machine turned on, push and hold the descale button (bottom right button). This should say "Descaling" in the display. Mix your descaling crystals in your water tank. Stir until they are completely dissolved in the water. Next have a container that can handle about 2 quarts of water under the steam wand, or have the machine positioned next to a sink. Next open the steam knob on the right side of the machine. You should hear the pump turn on and pump about 2 to 3 oz's. of water through the wand into the container. The pump should turn off and there will be a wait of about 2 minutes. The pump should turn on again and more water will come out. It will do this until it has completely drained the water tank. Do not interrupt this cycle until the machine has stopped on its own. When it does stop, the display will say "Finished descaling" push any button to continue. Rinse out the water tank and refill with fresh water. Place the water tank on the machine again, push the descale button again, then close and then open the steam knob again to let water just flow through the boilers until it is emptied by the machine, but don't turn off anything until the machine stops again on its own. This will clear the descale if you have gone to the "Reset Descale" in the menu and chose "Yes". Refill the water tank again with fresh water and then close and then open the steam knob again to prime and your ready to go.
Never run descaling solution through the brew unit. You should never descale the machine hot either.
1. To decalcify your boiler, remove your water tank and fill it with hot water (100 to 120 degrees). Open a pack of decalcifier and mix into the water tank. Place the tank back on the machine, then turn the machine on.
2. Open the steam knob and run approximately eight ounces of solution into a spare container. Turn the machineoff and let set about 10 to 15 minutes. It is very important that the machine does not remain on to heat the boiler anymore than necessary.
3. Repeat step #2 for your type of machine. Do this until you have consumed the entire water tank of solution (approximately four to five cycles) .
4. Remove water tank and rinse it with fresh water.
5. Refill the water tank with fresh water and place it back on the machine.
6. Repeat step #2 to rinse the machine, only this time use the entire water tank at one time, and there is not need to let it set. Done, refill your tank and run some water, and you are ready to go.
In the water tank there is a float with magnet inside. When water is filled it should rise up to indicate the machine has water. If it is not floating up ,try putting some foam underneath to raise up.It should help.
Remember, it is better to descale more often than not enough. 1. To decalcify your boiler, remove your water tank and fill it with hot water (100 to 120 degrees). Open a pack of decalcifier and mix into the water tank. Once it is dissolved, place the tank back on the machine, and then turn the machine on. 2. Open the steam knob and run approximately eight ounces of solution into a spare container. Turn the machine off and let set about 10 to 15 minutes. Longer is better. It is very important that the machine does not remain on to heat the boiler anymore than necessary. 3. Repeat step #2 for your machine. Do this until you have consumed the entire water tank of solution (approximately four to five cycles). (I do it at night before I go to bed and let the last cycle set in the boiler till morning.) 4. Remove water tank and rinse it with fresh water. Now open the knob and run the whole tank at one time to rinse. 5. Refill water tank with fresh water and place it back on the machine. Done
