SOURCE: Hello We have a prima donna machine and

Check your programmed temperature setting; perhaps your machine has been set at low or medium.

Following are the instruction for Setting the Temperature from the manual for the ESAM6700.

Setting the Temperature

1. Press the P button to enter the menu;

2. Press the < or > until "Set Temperature" is displayed;

3. Press the OK icon;

4. Turn < or > until the required temperature (high, medium, low) is displayed;

5. Press the OK icon to confirm (or the ESC icon to cancel the operation);

6. Press the button to exit the menu.

For a hotter coffee, before delivery rinse the appliance through by pressing the Rinse icon and confirming with the OK icon. Hot water

flows out of the coffee spouts and heats the internal circuit of the machine so that the coffee delivered will be hotter.

For an even hotter coffee, heat the cups by rinsing them with the hot water.

Cannot get steam to come out of my delonghi prima donna XS coffee machine

Could not find why but maybe if you go back over the scaling procedure and steam procedure there might be something you missed.
Please note! If "Energy saving" is active, you may have to wait a few seconds before hot water and steam are delivered.
Steam delivery 1. Make sure the hot water spout is attached correctly (fig. 7). 2. Fill a container with the liquid to be heated/frothed and immerse the spout/cappuccino maker (D5) in the liquid. 3. Press the steam ( ) button. After a few seconds, the steam to heat the liquid comes out of the cappuccino maker and "STEAM" is displayed. 4. When the required temperature is obtained, interrupt steam delivery by pressing the steam ( ) button again. (You should not discharge steam for more than 3 minutes at a time).

My maker keeps on saying descale. but how do i do it.

17.3 Descale
Over time, the continuous heating up of the water used to make the coffee leads to lime scale building up in
the inner circuits of the appliance.
When the message:
DESCALE
flashes on the display, you should perform the descale cycle.
Proceed as follows:
• make sure the appliance is ready.
• press the P button (the light over the button comes on) then press the button repeatedly until the
appliance displays:
DESCALE No
• Press the button (corresponding to the SET symbol flashing on the display) and the appliance will
display:
DESCALE YES
• Press the OK button to start the descale programme.
• Empty the tank and pour in the contents of one bottle (125 ml) of DURGOL descaler plus one litre of
water.
For subsequent descaling, use descaler of the same type and brand as supplied (available from technical
service centres authorised by the manufacturer).
• attach the water spout to the nozzle;
• place a container with a minimum capacity of 1.5 litres under the hot water spout (Fig. 3);
34 C o l l e c t i o n
• press the OK button.Descaler runs off from the hot water spout into the container below.
The appliance displays:
APPLIANCE IN DESCALE
• the descale programme automatically performs a series of run offs and pauses to remove lime scale
deposits from inside the coffee maker.
• After about 30 minutes, the appliance displays:
RINSING FILL TANK
The appliance must now be rinsed through to eliminate residues of descaling solution from inside the appliance.
Proceed as follows:
• empty the water tank, rinse and fill with clean water.
• Reposition the tank.
• Empty the full container and then put it back under the hot water spout.
• Press the OK button. Hot water is run off from the spout into the container below and the appliance displays:
RINSING
• When the water tank is empty, the appliance displays the message:
RINSING COMPLETE PRESS OK
• Press the OK button and refill the water tank with clean water.
• The descale programme is now terminated and the appliance is ready to make coffee again.

Our Delonghi Prima Donna always made hot coffee up until 2 weeks ago

Try first to heat the cups ,and then make the coffee.
Becouse the water for coffee and for hot water comes from the same way.

Have a delonghi Prima Donna 6700 coffee machine and get this message

Hi there coffee person.
Have you tried disconnecting the machine from the power supply. As well as that check if there are enough coffee beans in the bean in the compartment and enough fresh water in the water tank. Not only this but is the compartment with the coffee "tablets" - full or empty. Fill or empty accordingly. Connect to power again, if the machine does not work the only advice have from here is "to clean the machine" as described in the manual or as you are used to.
Good luck

Initial set up of delonghi ESAM6700 and it will not go past insert water spout stage. Even when spout inserted it does not recognise and we cant continue setting up the machine as it simply reads insert...

OK, I can answer this one... the same thing happened to me. It would not recognize the water spout. No beep when inserted, but it would beep if you inserted the milk container. Looking into the receptacle, I saw that the switch for the milk container is offset to the right, and the switch for the water spout is offset to the left. All I had to do was carefully bend the lower tang on the water spout that activates the switch to the left a little bit. It looked perfectly straight, but was just offset to the right enough to miss the switch.

Hope this helps someone.

I have a Delonghi Prima Donna. Blows lots of stem but wont froth milk. The 3 orings have been replaced and the fittings cleaned, but still no frothing. I pulled the lid apart and it seems ok. Any...

Where is it blowing steam from? If it is coming from the milk spout then it most likely that the milk jug is blocked somewhere. If it is coming from where the jug connects to the machine (coupling) then you might need to change the complete coupling (assuming you used the correct orings). The biggest cause of frothing problems with these machines is lack of cleaning of the milk jug. Soak the top in quality milk cleaner for at least an hour and rinse thoroughly. Also run cleaner through it regularly using the milk only function.

No hot water coming out of the water spout - yet makes coffee ok.

There is a blockage in the milk/steam circuit. Most likely one of the solenoid valves or possibly the boiler. Would advise you take it to an expert repairer unless you are very handy with such things and have access to spare parts and cleaning chemicals.
