Drain line makes loud noise

Just started making noise, purchased in 2006. Drain line vibrates like the line has an air bubble or obstruction in it. Do I need to clear the line of build up? Do I replace part/parts for motor?

Yes, by all means, check for obstructions in the drain line. Also check to see that the motor mounts for the drain pump are not damaged. Sometimes the veins in the drain pump get broken off and cause an imbalance in the pump which seems like a clog!

something in the impeller housing. not usually serviceable. not sure if that unit has two pumps. you could look underneath the tub and try to determine that, and where the noise is coming from.
i am confident the issue relates to a pump unit.

You will have to open up the panel to check exactly where the sound comes from. It can come from the motor itself or the moving parts. Some parts are being moved by water and cleaning the insides and the filter sometimes removes the noise.

SOURCE: Kitchenaid Dishwasher has starting making a real loud noise

Hi Andy and welcome to FixYa. I am Kelly. That loud noise your hearing is the motor bearings. If you were to remove the lower kick panel you will prbably find signs of a slow leak of water has been trickling through the motor and you will see a water spot under the motor pump assembly.
You were correct in your assumption that it was bearings. What happens is the motor shaft ceramic seal starts leaking long before the home owner even notices it. Then the water gets into the motor and corrosion starts to build up. As the motor turns the bearing starts to spal as a result of the corrosion and you hear the loud noises.
The only fix for this sadly to say is a complete motor impeller assembly replacement. If your model number is the one associated with this post / question: KUDI01FLSS then there is one more digit after the last "S" that being one of the following numbers 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6.

The motor and impeller for your dishwasher Item 10 or 18 can be found here and is listed at $138.44:

http://www.appliancepartspros.com/partsearch/model.aspx?model_id=5164895&diagram_id=907556#d907556

The seal that has failed is item 23 of the same link. Changing the seal at this point will not stop the noise.

Thanks for using FixYa.

SOURCE: Dishwasher has starting making a real loud noise

Hi,

It could be the motor bearings, they can go out if the pump seal starts to leak and moisture gets to the motor bearings. If that is the case you are looking at about $180.00 for the sump and motor (parts only).

It could also be something caught in the sump near the chopper that is creating the noise. Here is a link to some clean out instructions if you are up for trying them.

After installing the water supply line it makes a huge noise when turned all the way on

Most likely your plumbing system's air chambers have become waterlogged causing the loud noise or water hammer. Turn off the main valve, then open the faucet and allow it to drain thoroughly. Once all the water drains from the chamber, air will fill it again and form a cushion. Hope this helps. Good luck

My refrigerator is making bubbling noise how to fix it?

Hello darlene wellman - Generally speaking, it is normal for Frigidaire refrigerators to making a vibrating, snapping, dripping noises however not a bubbling noise. From what you have described it sounds like it could possibly be the drain sucking in air or it could be refrigeration through the evaporator. Honestly, I would suggest contacting a professional to verify it is in fact a normal operation or unit has a defect that needs to be repair.

Water inside unit, you can hear it when running. I know it's suppose to be normal in high humidity, but the unit was making a loud noise the other night so I had to turn it off. sounded like the fan

The unit is not draining properly. Make sure it is leaning back in the window. If you put a level on the top of the unit, it should be leaning back away from the window about a half bubble. If it still doesn't drain after this, the drain may be stopped up. The drain will either be in the bottom of the unit or on the back. If you try to clean the drain hole be careful not to use anything that will poke a hope in the rear coil. You can use compressed air.

I get repeated F2 messages and when the washer is reset, it makes a low, rumbling noise. I have removed the drain hose and flushed it out (did not see an obstruction). Also have been getting the SUD...

"F02" is a Long Drain error code, which usually means you have an obstruction in the drain pump, drain lines, or the drain pump has failed. The following link explains:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r615268-f02_error_code_whirlpool_duet_kenmore

The "SUD" error can commonly occur with this error due to the detection of air in the drain pump (lack of water flow). If cleaning the drain pump reservoir, and checking all the drain hoses does not correct the problem, you may have a failed drain pump.

Replacement pumps can be purchased on line at searspartsdirect.com, appliancepartspros.com, repairclinic.com or pcappliancerepair.com. All these sites offer competitive pricing so shop all of them for the best price.

If you have any questions about this repair please let me know. I hope this helps you.

This noise is probably the pump trying to start but will most likely be obstructed.Drain the machine manually by lowering the drain hose into a bucket or bowl and then remove blockage.

Loud vibrating/humming noise

Okay...based on the model number, this is a Frigidaire manufactured dishwasher. If you go to searspartsdirect.com and type in the your model number in the Search menu, you will find a useful illustration under the "Motor and Pump" heading. The drain pump is listed as item #60 in the drawing. Before you go through any major dis-assembly, check to make sure the pump is securely in place and not loose. Sometimes the pump comes loose from the mounting bracket and vibrates. Also, sure nothing is laying against it causing vibration noises (I've seen this before). If the solution is not that simple, remove the spray arm assembly inside the dishwasher and inspect all the debris traps under the spray arm assembly. The wash pump and drain pump sumps are located here. Check to make sure there's nothing obstructing the input to the drain pump. Lastly, if all else fails, remove the drain pump and inspect the impeller. If the you've inspected everything and still have the noise problem, replace the drain pump. The motor could possible be failing. The part number on the Sears website is 154580301 and costs about $40. Repairclinic.com has the same part listed as item #1257094 for $37.50 if you wish to do some comparable pricing.

I hope this helps you. If you need further assistance, please post back and let me know.

PS Even the quietest of all dishwashers will make some noise. However, if it has gotten to the point where you can hear it in the next room, you probably need to inspect to find the source of the problem. This is not true with all dishwasher manufacturers, but in many cases, the only difference between your "Quiet-Pack" line and regular low-end models is added insulation behind the door and lower panel to help quieten noise.
