Question about Samsung Televison & Video
Hi, I have a Samsung 50" plasma tv set (PN50B560T5FXZA) that recently got a black line across the screen. Called Samsung and got absolutely no help. They know nothing! I asked if replacing the y-buffer board would resolve the problem. They didn't even know what a y-board is or what it's function is! So I'm reaching out to anyone who might know if it would be worth the $35 bucks on ebay to buy a new y-board for it. Any help or advice you could give would be very much appreciated. Thanks!
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

SOURCE: Broken Plasma TV
I'm looking for a broken screen HP-S5053 to buy from someone. I have a new screen that needs a home. I need one that is complete and working other than the screen. Or I would sell my screen to you. Thanks, Wade firstname.lastname@example.org

SOURCE: Samsung plasma all black screen
Black Screen come from three areas. 1- Power Supply Board 2- Inverter Board 3- Processing Board on the LCD. Since the Power Supply Board was replace, it easy to troubleshoot where the problem. lies If you cannot get the backlight, then its the inverter board. If you can use a flash light on the TV screen and can barely see the images, then the problem is indeed the inverter board. If you cannot see any images when using a flash light, then the problem comes from the LCD processing board. Let me know if you have any success. Mike

Here's a link to order the original the JVC upper Y-buffer board and lower Y-buffer board for this model from a major parts distributor if needed:
JVC "PD-42DX6" Replacement Part Upper Y - Buffer Board (LJ41-02760A)
JVC "PD-42DX6" Replacement Part Lower Y - Buffer Board (LJ41-02761A)
Based on the symptoms: It is possible that the Y-buffers are faulty, which may require the replacement of the Y-sus board as well. You may want to get a local technician to diagnose the unit and provide a second opinion.

I had the same problem and had the TV serviced and found that the y board was blown $350 total. The repair guy explained that the board has a hot transister underneath that slowly leaked onto the board, but says that they can not get Samsung to admit to the problem. Works fine now but only have a 90 day warrenty on the parts.
