It sounds like your speaker has failed. I would recommend replacing the speaker. You can take the radio to a marine electronics repair shop for the repair and it should be about $75 - $100. If you have any other problems please email me: email@example.com. You can always send it to me and we can repair it at my shop.

Yes if the tip is broken, the antenna will receive, but not transmit properly. The make an antenna that has a 32" stainless steel antenna with a small metal "can". Can mount it anywhere.
