Front load washing machine? If it is it depends on what you mean by move the tub around, if it is just spinning then they do this as the drums do not lock when stopped, if you mean there is excess movement on the inner drum then you can check this by holding your hands at opposite sides of the drums just inside the door opening, locate the outer drum at the rear of the door seal and press your fingers against it and with the other hand press the inner drum in the opposite direction. If movement is felt between the 2 drums when pressed in opposite directions then the drum bearings may have failed or the spider shaft may have broken.

SOURCE: Frig front load washer GLTR1670AS too much play in tub

Remove the kickplate and inspect the 2 tub shock absorbers, it sounds like they might be broken. If the tub is hanging to one side or dropped all together, remove the top and check the tub support springs.

SOURCE: found a white piece inside the back plate of washer

Hi rowdyg923

Nope, they are for shipping, they hold the tub inplace while it is being shipped. if they are left in when you use the washer it will end up wrecking it.

SOURCE: frigidaire front load washer won't spin, belt looks good, makes noise

Don't have much experience on Frigidaire. Is the motor a brush type, capacitor type or one of those new DC types? If it's got brushes and they are ok, then I would say your armature is up the creek. If it's a capacitor type (unlikely) then the capacitor is most likely duff. If it's the new DC type it could be a lot of things, most likely the module which breaksdown and passes an AC component in the motor supply which make the motor tremble but not rotate

SOURCE: maytag performa PAV2300AWW will not spin but sounds like it is.

I think you have guessed it right. There is probably something stuck between the tubs. I have seen this caused by a lot of things. You should look for things as small as coins, shirt buttons, cufflinks etc., Also I advice you not to turn on the machine until the blockage is removed.

Good Luck,
Sai.

SOURCE: it looks like the washer tub has dropped but

If this machine is 15-20 years old, or more.......then you got a broken suspension cable, or busted pulley that holds the cable. Push in the clips with a flat screwdriver, in the crack between front of machine and the actual top. They will be spring clips and about 6 inches from the left and right side. When you can get the top off, you will see the problem.

Frigidaire front loader stops for a minute than spins, making awful squeak and when I moved think something broke and now the whole thing moves I found a piece of metal when I took the back off

Hello Tasha, thank you for your submission!
I understand that your Frigidaire washer stops for a minute then begins to squeal. I see in the picture you are looking at the rear bearing or spider arm on the back of the tub. I would recommend having a professional technician out since you stated that something may have been broken during moving or disassembly. This will help prevent any unnecessary part purchases. I hope this information is helpful. -Matt

My wash machine is make a knocking sound in the back of the tub in spin cycle. I took the back cover off and a piece of the plastic cover around tube broke off something between the tub and cover hitting...

Hi, I will try to give you some general tips. If you wash things that can not spread out evenly inside the drum, like mats pillows etc. Disable the high spin and drip dry your items or squeeze out the water by hand.
If the drum swings from side to side when rotating, one of the shock-absorbers inside the machine may be worn out, broke or loose.
If you open the lid, grab the drum and move it a bit back and forth and side to side (not rotating) it should not swing easily but with a damped resistance when the absorbers are ok.
An other experience I have made is the balancing of the feet. I had a new machine that alway moved around during the high spin, even thou I have made an extra flat surface for it to stand on. I could recognize a bumping noise from the feet.
When I pressed down the left or the right front corner with my hand a little, the bumping stopped. Then I adjusted the corresponding foot down and fine tuned it until the bumping disappeared while spinning.
Since then my machine has not moved an other mm (= 1/25").
So equal down force from the feet and no play under any of them is essential to deep it from moving around.
Hope this can help you too.

MY MACHINE STOPPED FROM DOING A LOAD OF LAUNDRY, THE MACHINE WAS DONE WITH NO LIGHTS ON. I HAD TO FORCE THE DOOR OPEN AND I THINK I BROKE THE CLOSING AND OPENING SWITCH. NEED TO KNOW HOW TO REPAIR. ...

You will need to order a new door latch assembly. It likely did not unlock due to water remaining in the tub. Remove bottom panel to check pump filter for obstructions. Door latch is accessed by removing the front part of the rubber door boot. There is a small spring at the bottom of it that keeps the clamp tight around it. Remov ethe outer clamp and fold the RH side back to expose the door latch assembly. You can download the service manual at teh link below if you would like.

I recently moved to another house...Is the tub suppose to wobble or is it suppose to be evenly balanced?

the tub has stabilizers on it ... remove rear panel and make sure the shocks are still attached and or not broke... if all this looks good is the unit on a pedestal if so there have been alot of problems with lg washers and pedestals.... i know your saying well they sell them with the washer as a optional feature ,but they have been giving fits to lg for the last couple of years.... if the shocks look good then most likely you have a bad hall sensor located also in the rear of machine on the part called the stator .the stator is a round device that attaches to the rear of tub and has a copper coil that goes around the entire thing... on this device is a white plasetic device called a hall sensor that measures the spped and balance of unit if unit starts getting out of balance the hall sensor will slow machine down.... good luck to you

Sounds like something is knocking around in the back of the washer. On the spin cycle, the noise is very loud anyway, but it sounds like there is something banging around inside. The drum moves around...

ok open the door
make sure the thing is empty
try to move the inner tub
if you can shke it side to side anything but around
you have a broken spinner support

This one is weird. A paper jam took place and we

When you cleared the JAM you broke, moved, displaced or bent the sensor that knows if the door is open, look for a sensor with two wires where the door makes contact - it could be almost any style but is usually something that slips into something and makes a contact closure or microswitch to close or open.
