Question about Kenmore Dryers

1 Answer

The dryer isn't getting hot

Kenmore 80 series dryer. We have had it for about 9 years. We just moved in the last few days and it looks like everything is reconnected properly. But when we turn the dryer on to make sure it doesn't get hot at all.

Here's a good troubleshooting article on them:
http://www.ehow.com/way_5389575_troubleshooting-kenmore-series-dryer.html

Keep in mind, it is an older dryer, but that series is known for being really good. If the article doesn't check out, I would suggest calling in a technician as it's possible something got damaged in the move/

I have a kenmore 80 series dryer. 18 years old. Makes loud buzz when starting and overheats and stops in about ten minutes. I've bypassed thermal fuse and samething happens. I've also cleaned out...

You don't want to bypass the thermal-cutoff. If the thermostat is malfunctioning, it WILL overheat and cause a fire!! For the age of it, I would replace the whole dryer! It's going to cost you more in time than the value of the unit.

Kenmore 80 Series dryer's drum is making a thump

I would check all the screw's to make certain they are tight. That was my problem when mine was making noise. Look on the interior of the drum.

Kenmore series 80 gas dryer 6 yrs old will start and tumble but will not heat up

Gas dryers have an ignition panel that gets hot and when it reaches a certain temperature it causes the pilot light to ignite. It sounds as if your ignition needs to be replaced. We did this and had another 6 years from our gas dryer.
If you're handy you can probably do this replacement yourself. If you're like my spouse and me, we found a reasonably priced professional who completed it in just a few minutes.
Good luck. I hope this helps you. If it does, please come back to Fixya and rate my help!

Kenmore Dryer-90 Series- Pushed Start button nothing happened

get a meter, unplug the dryer and read out the fuse, pull one of the wires off when you read it out, also when was the last time you cleaned out the dryer?if it's the fuse usually the air isn't moving very well, you need to clean out the duct that the lint filter slides into, vac out the inside of dryer where the motor is and clean out the vent line and make sure the outside vent is clear,if it's a long run from the back of dryer to the outside i use a leaf blower to blow out the vent line, make sure you have 240 coming in at the back of dryer, you could have a blown fuse,if the thermal fuse is good, check the thermostats on the heater box and read out the heater, good luck,if i can help with anything else let me know

Kenmore Series 80 Heavy Duty Gas Dryer turns on but drum won't move - is this likely a belt problem? Dryer is about 12-13 years old. Model 75651

Good day,
Reach in, and see if you can move the drum. It will be a little stiff, but should turn.
If so, yes, it is probably a belt.

Look below. (Yes it is made by Whirlpool).
If hyperlink won't work, then copy and paste it in the address bar of your browser.
