I had the same problem and found that when I moved the speakers apart further...It works as well as it always did before my 8 speakers were introduced..I think the sound was interfering with itself.. Try it !!

I set the volume to 40. After a little while the volume starts dropping down. If you do not turn the volume back up the volume will eventually go to zero all by it self and turn off the system.

How do i connect an ipod to my sony str-de310 receiver

Connecting to a home stereo
  1. For most home stereo systems, connect iPod to your amplifier's sound input using a 3.5 mm mini stereo to RCA adapter cable.
  2. Adjust the volume on iPod to less than half to prevent overdriving your amplifier. Adjust the listening volume using your stereo's controls.

Note: Depending on your stereo, iPod may need to be set higher than half in order to get a proper volume through external speakers.

What are good settings to have to make the music sound clear for a jvc KD-R310 deck?

you will need to access the bass and treble setting on the unit.
If you have stnadard speaker then dont put the bass to high as you can not turn the volume up high.
The same for the treble.
Set them at about the same and turn the volume up until it sounds good.
If it is to quiet then turn the treble and bass down and then the volume up more

Stereo cuts out at half volume.

You don't exactly define what "cuts out" means.... silence, protection or power off?

What makes you think it's thermal in nature?

Have you considered the speaker load impedance may be too low for the amp?

CAN'T SET THE TIME ON MY JVC KD-S14 CAR STEREO

Hello dkadams37200,

Here's a link to download a copy of the instructions.

But most of the JVC's have a similar procedure. 1) You first need to press and hold the "SEL" button until the receiver enters PSM (personal settings mode). 2) Then use the left/right rocker switch just to the right of the volume control to select an item. 3) The turn the volume control to change the setting. 4) Finally, press SEL again to exit PSM.

Hope this helps.

p.s. Welcome home, and thanks for your service to the USA.

HELP STEREO CUTS OUT!

ok , ive found the problem with mine. I checked the voltage between the earth wire on the head unit and the battery in the car. I found that when i turned the headunit up to around 17-20 there was up to 3volts differance, which is when it would cut out. So ive run a new earth wire and she's all sweet . Even the cd player works now.
