Lower oven not heating up everything else is working fine

I have a NEFF U1721 double oven(ENR No U1721N2GB/05). The lower oven has just decided not to heat up although both the fan and light are working normally. If you think it is the heating element could you please advise where I am best to get one and how easy it is to fit. many thanks Roy

Hi, we have had the same problem. You can order the element from many places online, the cheapest is about £25 ranging up to £60 from neff themselves. Fitting it is ok the hardest part is getting the fan off to change the actual element. However, be warned, we are now on our 4th element and it just went again last night. Neff deny that this is a known fault that the elements keep going. However, at least 10 of our neighbours have had the same problem with their oven too!

it has to be the temperature control itself...thats the only other component, aside from the high-heat cut out switch which rarely goes bad.

Lower oven not giving out any heat, fan working, light working

If fan is working ok, then you need to fit a new oven element, located at rear of oven behind a removeable cover.

open the bottom oven door and you will find a small silver plate on the left side of the oven frame. the model number follows the letters "ENR".

Neff U1721 bottom oven not heating fan & light are ok

Yes it will need a new element, if the fan runs and temperature light comes on then the element is gone.

No heat generated in lower oven

You are quite correct in saying that the element has failed.
As regards the wattage , it should be stamped on the fixing plate of the element, if you cannot see it there then opt for the lower wattage one, it will not make much difference to the oven ,as there is only100watt difference between the 2., and that is nothing to worry about.

Plz rate my solution to your prob.
Thanks.

Can not remove element

Hi there. Dunno if you solved your problem but I had exactly the same. I did a bit of digging on this website and found the solution which worked. Basically, undo the three bolts holding the fan motor onto the back of the unit. This should allow enough play on the fan from the inside to wiggle (technical term) the bolt free and replace on the new element. Reposition and secure the motor. Hope this helps. Matt
