Question about Kitchen Ranges
I have a Kenmore Model 665.75844 Sens-A-Clean Self-Cleaning Gas Range which we have owned since new and is in very good condition. However, as of late it has been starting to give us problems with the oven not staying lit past the first heating cycle intermittently. I have attempted to clean the sensor in the oven as well as running the self cleaning feature without success as the problem reappears from time to time. Just the other day in fact we started the oven up for a pizza and preheated the unit to 425 degrees which was achieved only to find that when we checked the pizza 10 mins. later the oven had kicked out the burner which could not be recycled on again. FYI-the timer feature was not in play for any of the early kick out of the burner. Could this be a bad sensor or possibly a bad control board? Any help would be appreciated...

It will help to know the model number from the oven, but F2 usually indicates a failed temperature sensor on most ovens. If this is the case on yours, it will have to be replaced for the oven to operate again.
Post back with the number and I will see if I can help.Thanks/Mike

I own a similar range. As you can imagine I was dismayed to find out that my $6000 heap can't run a clean cycle, unless of course you just don't want to use your oven again. let me give you a tip something WILL break on your oven every time you use the self cleaning "feature".
The first time I used the self cleaning feature the board burnt up, I asumed hat this was a fluke. The second time the pvertemp sensor burnt out. The next few times that I was brave enough to try it the overtemp sensor triggered this is what I hope has gone wrong with yours since while it's not easy or convenient to fix it is free. If you pull out your range and remove the backsplash and then the rear panel there should be a breaker with a button you can push to reset. On mine it is located near the top of the oven compartment on the left side near the middle. I hope that works for you and you will soon learn as I have after doing this a few times that the self cleaning cycle is just not worth it. It willdo this every time and it really is just easier to use easy off and clean the oven by hand. I realize that is not what you had in mind doing when you bought a luxury Item like a 36" thermador range, but I hope you don't have to hate yours as much as I hate mine.

My oven will not work. After pressing the desired temp on the oven, the preheat light and oven light comes on. After about 15 minutes, the oven is slightly warm and maybe an hour later the oven may or may not heat to desired temp. Kenmore gas range model #790.72851301.
